The video cam is a sony DV recorder, I think model 103...I borrow it from work. The camera connects to your computer via 1394 (Firewire) card. The video that is downloaded is 100MB of 720x700 video/audio. Non compressed. I just bought a package called Ulead VideoStudio, 99$, it allows you to download from the camera into MPG or AVI or any format. You can cut and paste clips to make 'best of' clips. What I used it for this time was to load the uncompressed raw video, trim the length, add compression and convert to mpg. that software is excellent!!

I can't make it next weekend..I will be in San Diego for a conference. The weekend after may be possible...Gotta check with Bettinas calendar. I would love to go again this year, but with the holidays coming, school & work...Things are kinda tight right now. I can tell you that we ALL need to be there opening day next year (April??).

Those videos are from VA Motorsports Park in Dimwiddie VA. From woodbridge its probably about 1.5-1.75 hrs away. Its a little southwest of Richmond. For me, its about 2.25 hours, from Fairfax. I have run at Old Dominion one night. I tried to go again 3 weeks ago on Friday, the gates were locked tight. A friend said that he heard they moved the 1/8th to Sundays. I don't know if thats true or not. I would also like to visit MIR & Capital & Maple Grove one day.

Brian, they opened Mar 4 this year but next year they go from NHRA to IHRA status and one of the employees thought they would open in Feb(yes! ).
