I raced a previous model M3 going about 115-120mph after more than a 1/4 mile, Swanson chipped. He thought he was gonna leave me in the dust until I went WOT. Then he was the one playing catch up. He must've dirtied his pants. The new M3s sound like even more fun, especially if I have a bottle in the back. Gotta give it to BMW's M series and also their X5. I would like to see them put the M3 engine in the M roadster. Man oh man.

Cool

Hey MRBBQ:

I guess we are in a pretty elite group! I have just received confirmation of my 2001 Black/Black (Fully Loaded & MSRP) M5 being built. Should have it parked next to my 99 Red Lightning in December...just in time for Christmas. Only waited 6 months for it!

I like the new M3 as well. However, when comparing to the Audi S4 I think the benefits of all wheel drive, twin turbo design offer a superior performance platform. Stock the S4 has 250 hp. RS4 Euro spec cars produce 380 hp. A stock US spec S4 can be fitted with larger turbo's and intercoolers and produce close to 400 hp. WE all know how difficult it is to apply that much horsepower to the pavement with only 2 wheels. This is nearly imposible on anything except perfect DRY pavement, huge tires, and ginger application of the throtle. The Audi on the other hand can launch hard in almost any conditions. S4 hands down winner. BMW M3 no chance. However, I would be willing to take the M3 off your hands, it is a GREAT car right out of the box. Have fun!
