Post Superchip Nitrous Program.... Info needed...

Hey, who has had their Superchip reprogrammed for nitrous?

Did you have to pay $125.00 and wait up to 5 weeks to get it back?

Do you like the results?

Thanks,

Hi Tampa Bay Lightning,

As I mentioned to you in email just this morning, before you posted this here, getting custom programs back from Superchips right now takes from 2-4 weeks (I never said anything about 5 weeks, so I don't know where you got that from), thanks to it being the last part of the racing season, and everyone wants custom programs done. This will also depend somewhat on just how much work they need to do to your program. Some of them can be turned around quicker, some cannot, that's why there is a range mentioned. This is also why we use that custom program worksheet, so we'll know *exactly* what you're installing, and thus *exactly* what needs to be done to the program.

The custom program fee from Superchips is $125, as I told you in email. With the 2-program Superchip Flip Chip, it's cost includes the cost of any custom programming needed ***at the original time of purchase***, but does *not* include the cost of on-going custom programming needed for other changes you make *after* purchasing the Superchip, it's not life-long custom programming free of charge.

If you want to use nitrous "safely" you are going to need the custom program, though there is enough fuel in the factory program that you can run a small shot of nitrous, but with the current Superchip programs, you do need a custom program to use it with the Superchip. There are some vendors of "wet" nitrous systems telling people they do not need any custom programming, just "tune" it with fuel, and that is a recipe for instant disaster if used with the Superchip without a custom program for the nitrous.

If you have further questions, you know where to reach us, we're happy to help.

Mike:

I just wanted to know:

1. Who has used the program.

2. Did they like the results of the reprogramming or any issues they had.

3. Was the fee and wait time what they experienced(whether they went through you or directly to SuperChips).

You provided none of these details, excluding the cost and time-frame, in your e-mail response to me this morning.

I knew I'd get the information here, either from you or users of the product...

What's going on? I've been your biggest fan since day-one. I can't count the times I passed along your e-mail address to people here and elsewhere. I've always been extremely impressed with your helpfulness and professionalism.

What makes you think I expected *life-long* free programming? You think I'm a *beggar*?
Do you think I'm *stupid*?

I'll drive to Longwood....

1 BAD TK has the R9 Nitrous program. He was testing this sunday along with the trac program. The trac program is 2 tenths faster. Though you do have to watch out for burning your plugs. he currently has a 75 nitrous jet in and a 100 gas get in to keep it from burning a hole in the piston...

Tommy:

I've heard alot of bad things about running nitrous on both stock and regular chipped L's.

Don't want to push my luck without the custom programming. The warranty is already voided, so I'd be buyin'.

Thanks for the info.

BTW, cool idea on the purge... I hid mine but I still get the usual WTF when I pull up.hehehehe

Cool

What ever you decide. The guys down here running NOS dont use speical programs for it. Now i will say, we do have one, but dont use it. If you really want to pull the most power out of the NOS go and Dyno tune a chip for the NOS.

Hi Tampa Bay,

Easy, no need to get bent out of shape! We have greatly appreciated your support, and we are aware of that, of course. Nobody (aside from you) said anything about you being "stupid", etc., those are all your words, and I think you need to calm down just a bit and chill out instead of lashing out as you have. You asked about the fee, and I explained in detail how that works in response, based not only on what you posted here, but also what you posted to me in email, which, by the way, clearly indicated that you felt it was going to be something simple and immediate, though of course you did not use those exact words. So I don't understand the problem, but you're free to feel however you want, my friend.

Good luck!

TBL:
I have a R9/Nitrous chip from SC that was programed for up to 125 HP shot of Nitrous in the wet system. It runs just fine anywhere from the 50-75 HP shot with 1/4 mile times of 12.36 and 1/8 mile times in the 7.9 range. I have run the nitrous with a SC RPM/TRAC chip and melted 5 out of 8 factory platinum plugs because of a lean mix. I have since stepped up the fuel shot and plug color, O2's voltage, and anti knock sensor all doing just fine with air fuel ranges in the 13.8 to 14.0 range. Depending on how and when you intend to run your nitrous will determine which chip to run. I have three different programs on three different chips from SC to use depending on when and where.

Mike:

You got my apology via e-mail hours ago, so I don't understand why we are continuing to post this here, but...

I'll admit, the misunderstanding was mine. I didn't realize the many steps that needed to be taken to provide a custom program. You and I have expedited the process before. I didn't realize the difference. You've been more than clear on that matter, thank you.

I never expected you to do anything for free and certainly not forever. Your response strongly emphasizes that I did... (and the ** ** really pisses me off). It was insulting.

Maybe that wasn't your intention or perhaps it wasn't for my benefit, hence my apology this morning.

I won't respond to this matter here again. It's gone too far already. You're more than welcome to e-mail me if you feel that you want to continue.

I look forward to the questionaire that we discussed.

Rich
