Thumbs up Like crap through a goose...

I took the L in to Tomball Ford last Thursday to have (are you ready...here goes) the seat tear fixed, the exhaust rattle fixed, intercooler replaced, sway bar bracket and bushing replaced (my fault), and
(finally) steering stops greased. I am expecting it finished sometime next week, but I get a call at 11:00am this morning and what do you know, my truck is ready! Here I was scared as all getout that I'd be L-less for a week. Guess not! I'm "grinnin' like a possum eatin' *****."

Please post how the fixes went. I'm very interested in the exhaust rattle.

Thanks.

Cool

As a devout SPCA member, I think it is my duty to set the record straight here.

The opposum is a largely misunderstood little animal. It has NEVER been know to eat ***** and if it was forced to do so, I highly doubt that it would be grinning about it. More than likely, if forced to eat *****, it would fall to the ground and fain death. Thus comes the infamous saying, "Eat ***** or die".

Glad you got your truck fixed so quickly.

Well, its been a few days now and I'll fill you in on the repair status. IC is fine, steering stops don't pop, and the bracket looks good.

However, when "redoing" my seat, they neglected to put in any additional padding, so in a few months, I'll have to go back and get the whole thing done again. They also attempted to fix the exhaust rattle; the noise is better, but still present. I guess I'll have to go with some sort of aftermarket system to remedy this problem as Ford is still baffled by it. The other thing I requested was new control arms. I gave the dealership a detailed list of everything I wanted done including part numbers and the TSBs that I knew of. For some reason, Tomball Ford decided not to give me the control arms. I guess they didn't believe me when I said it was still clunking. It's only been a few days and...you guessed it...today, while backing out of the driveway (the same place it normally happens) "CLUNK!" What really annoys me is that the dealership is over an hour and a half away and I don't get a loaner, so someone has to follow me to give me a way home and take me back to the dealership to pick up the truck. I drive the truck everyday and I know what problems I am having. Don't you think if I know enough to hand you a printed list of TSBs that I know enough to know what problems I'm experiencing?

I wanted to get all of this warranty crap done at once, but I guess that's asking too much. Thanks, Ford and Tomball. Anyone know if Gullo (in Conroe) is SVT certified or have any experiences with SVT dealerships on the NW side of Houston?

This is frustrating.

How far in on 290 is Joe Meyers? I know I've passed by, but don't remember exactly where.

Do you have Extended warranty ?? If yes then rental is covered no deductible. My dealer replaced the muffler to solve the exhaust rattle.

Good luck

Doug

No extended warranty, yet. Guess I'll do that before I mess with taking the truck back in. If only I could get a break from all of these damn tests to get something done...
