Calling FORDSALES - A/F ?
Yes, I do like it.
At WOT it pegs the green LED’s which indicates that the fuel is running "rich" and that is exactly want I want to be able to watch and if at WOT it is not showing green, I’ll shut down instantly.
On the web site of the gauge re-designer, Mike mentions that the gauge might not work at idle or cruising speed because it was re-designed for WOT. But the bonus is this: after the manifold warms up, the gauge starts working. It works at idle, slow or fast cruising, etc., etc. It works all the time. I enjoy watching the color show especially at night.
A little concerned that the gauge was not working correctly because it differs from the way the designer mentions on his web site, I called him and asked if all was OK because the gauge was not working as mentioned. Mike told me that [now, I am an electrical idiot so I cannot relay exactly what I was told] that our L’s must have a wider ????? [I don’t remember what the wider ????? was] so it could function at lower speeds. But the accurate report will be at WOT. I was also told to become familiar with how it operates because if I were to notice that the gauge is acting differently than something could be wrong.
That is exactly what happened to me. After using the gauge for a few weeks and becoming use to how it works, a couple days ago I noticed that it wasn’t acting the same. It was different. The LED’s were not working as always. When I got home and opened the hood, I noticed that the new JL ram air filter had fallen out of place (not installed correctly). I fixed the filter and the gauge acted like it had before.
Once again, I AM NOT A GENUS IN AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR. So, this could have been only a coincidence. All I know is I like it. And again, I feel comfortable going to WOT and watching the LED’s jump to and pegging the "green rich" and if they don’t, I’m backing off.
I hope this was a little help.

Jim,
I'm waiting for my 2 gauge pod and boost gauge. My plans are to buy a '99 L pilliar so I don't ruin mine.
How did you hook it up to the O2 sensor? Any pictures?

I thought that you had already installed an A/F gauge, not the re-designed gauge but a stock gauge.
What's up?
By the way, congrats on how you installed the gauge. You installed it correct, I didn't

Jim - I did install the A/F a few weeks ago. I went with the regular Auto Meter gauge and I have to say it is a rather busy gauge. The reason I ask is I was just wondering how the modified one worked out and if it really only displayed at WOT. The standard gauge is fun to watch but I find it to be a little distracting at times. On the other hand I was thinking that I could go with a 3 pod and add another A/F to monitor the other side. That way I could have a boost gauge between two A/F gauges. I wonder how nuts that would be?
I wish I would have taken pics of the install I did but I had gunk on my hands from poking around under the truck and I didn't want to get it all over the camera. If anybody else wants to try it was the pin and wire that was discussed in the other thread. Oh, and this was on a 00, don't know if it is the same on a 99.

I read where someone wired both the left and right sensor, ran both wires to a toggle switch and from the switch to the gauge. He could then, by switching, watch both side with one gauge.

FORDSALES - If I remember correctly you bought one of those modified A/F gauges. How do you like it? Does it work as you expected? Do is show any info for anything other than WOT blasts?
