Getting my garage together
Hi again everyone, I just wanted to share my experience and what I did to get my garage setup for maintaining my new Lightning.
It's true that you can fit under the L to do an oil change, but it is much more comfortable with a set of low clearance vehicle ramps. (I am 5'11", 185lbs)
Here is the list of things I use for engine and tire maintenence:
1. Rhino Ramps (for oil changes)
2. 2.5 ton floor jack
3. pair of 6,000 pound jack stands
4. wood wheel chocks
5. oil filter wrench
6. several funnels
7. plastic oil drain pan
8. 5 gallon plastic gas can for holding used oil. (This can hold multiple changes and won't spill)
9. old cardboard box unfolded (protect driveway, in case you spill a few drops of oil)
10. quality socket set
11. roll of shop towels
12. digital tire gauge
13. portable, rechargable air pump.
For appearence:
1. 3M Imperial hand glaze
2. 3M Show car wax
3. 3M wax applicator
4. 12 white Cannon hand towels (wash first)
5. The Absorber
6. Meguiars soft gel car wash
7. soft wash mit
8. 3 gallon plastic bucket
9. Son of a Gun
10. Son of a Gun tire gloss (apply sparingly)
I'm sure everyone has differnet ideas about taking care of an L, but I just wanted to say that I really enjoy pampering mine. It's not a daily driver, always garaged, never driven in the rain, never been shopping, never been parked anywhere near another car. My neighbors think I am crazy.

Crazy you are, but then, so are we all. That's what's so cool about owning a Lightning. It's kind of like being married, they empty your wallet, your beer can, and your mind all at the same time.
I love it!
