Shaker Hood for the L

I just bought a shaker hood from a friend but I need the shaker part of it. Does anyone know where I might be able to locate one pretty cheap. I only paid $100 for the hood painted. I am not sure if the mach 1 hoods are the same. Any info would be great.

The only place to get one is from Keystone. I paid $200 just for the mounting hardware. Get out your checkbook.

The mach1 shaker system from Ford runs upward of $700 if you have to replace one. Having said that, you can often find used rigs on ebay or on the classifieds at http://www.mach1registry.com/

I will say that you will need to do some fabrication to make a mach1 rig work with the lightning, especially the brackets and stuff. Then there is the piping if you want to make it function.

From what I recall of the keystone system, the piping is going to be completely different, since I think it uses channels in the hood to route air to the special airbox that is made by them. If you just want the look, I am sure you could make a mach1 scoop fit with a little work though.

I can tell you that a mach1 hood ain't gonna fit a truck. I have one of each...

the shaker scoop of the mach1 it's smaller than the scoop that comes with the keystone shaker, my friend has a mach1 and we put his scoop on my L. just to see and it looks funny, it won't even cover the hole you can see inside the engine bay.

Yup, that's the Keystone.

You will need the $200 hardware kit and the top and bottom halves of the scoop. You may get out for less than the cost of the whole hood, but I wouldn't bank on it.
