What tool and where to buy to check codes?

What tool and where to buy to check codes?

Also where do I get a list of codes to show what each copde means?
This is the first vehicle I would use for checking codes?
Its for my 03 Lightning.

Get an auto Xray.. has free updates..
Codes can be found on the net... Good luck...

If you have a Hand Held Tuner they can read and clear the Codes,
if not you can buy them from cheap to expensive at any auto store.
I got one from a local Auto Store and used it once, came with a book of codes
Or you can just get them off the net as you need them (the codes)

This is the one I bought before I had hand held tuners
