Center console mods.

I am in the proccess of removing my center seat and putting in a center console. Just wondering if I can get some ideas, and do they make a console to fit our trucks. Was looking for something that I can put some guages in or maybe a digital readout monitor.

Do you mean console?

You can do the Expedition Console swap with the conversion of the seats to captain's chairs. See the link in my signature.

LET ME SEE IF I CAN FIND SOME PICS OF MY BUDDIES CENTER CONSOLE.

HERE YA GO

there's ya some good ideas. instead of the fabric yellow covering the box, you can go with fiberglass and put some gauges in there.

No problem. I was one of the first to do this mod to my old '98 F-150. Some of the links do not work anymore on my page but I have not really kept up with it since buying my '05 Lariat.

I did another search for "Center console gauge" and came up with the following:

The Expidition consoles are getting harded and harder to find. Whn I did my bucket seats i couldn't find one, I ended up getting a console from a F150. While you can not mount any guages in it, they are the same size inside, as a expidition console.

You can allways put guages in a pillar pod, and if your carefull you can get one guage in the bezel by the radio

There are two different styles of Expedition consoles.

The '97-'99 are a narrow top, due to the captain's chairs having armrests.

The '00-'02 are the wide top. I would go with the wide top one for the Lightning.

The Expeditions were restyled in '03 and have a totally different interior than the F-150's.

Here are a couple of pictures of a narrow one in my old truck:

Here is the wider top version:

Vinnie and pitstain, Both consoles look real good. What are they from expeditions? I would love to find one of those blackwood consoles with the nav screen. I could take that screen out and put in the edge digital readout monitor.
