Unhappy Predator Paperweight

I just received a Predator Tuner that I purchased on Ebay (great deal @ $137) for my '03 Lightning. The problem is that the unit still has the previous owners tune in it. The guy was clueless about the fact that they must be unlocked before they can be used by anyone else. In hindsight I should have inquired before bidding. He's long since sold the truck. My question is: Is this unit good for anything in this condition? I guess I can file a "not as advertised" claim and attempt to get my money back, but I really wanted the programmer! It was originally purchased through "Grannatelli" if that makes a difference.

THanks in advance.

Lyle

i believe the only thing you can do is call diablo and ask them to reprogram it for you. it's going to cost a few dollars, but that's probably the simplest way.

depending on how long ago you bought it off ebay, go through and file a paypal dispute. it may take a little while but hang in through the whole process and you MIGHT get some money back.

really wondering if he "forgot" to take the tune out.

What's that old adage..."If it's too good to be true it probably is." $137 for a Predator and $200 to unlock it and you could have bought a brand new one.

Does the guy you bought it from still have his truck? Send it back and have him put his stock tune on it. If not you will have to send it to Diablo to get it unlocked. It around 230 buck, but they will unlock it for you. Bought one last month but I got lucky and the owner had put the stock tune back in it Good luck

This is why I would only buy brand spankin new tuners. It isn't worth saving money to have to worry about crap like this.

Well your tuner should be able to give you a tune with that module.
