Cool Billet Cranks/rods

HI!... Was wondering if anyone had some links to some quality companys that make billet crankshafts and billet "I'" beam rods for the 5.4. Looking for stock rod/main sizes and stock stroke. And before anyone starts, yes I now the stock forged steel crank can handle 900H.P plus.

Thanks :

Neal N.

Billet

I know VT sells them http://www.vtengines.com/store/index...cPath=11_19_25
I'm not sure about the crank but probably Ford Racing would have them.

I pretty sure Manley has billet Rods but at 1200.00 a set it's tuff to write that check knowing a forged set will take the power that they do.

HI!... Well I'm running a set of forged EAGLE ESP "H" beam rods now. But my custom turbo set-up is going to be pushing a ton of boost and I like to way overbuild my bottom ends. I'm currently looking at the MANLEY and OLIVER billet "I" beam rods. They are both good for well over 1500H.P. The EAGLES I have are only good for 750H.P.

Billet is good for high horsepower applications, but not for a DD.

Cool

HI!... This won't be a daily driver. Pure drag truck and lookin at possibly pushing 25LBS of boost. Truck is being back halved this winter with full pro stock chrome moly 4-link, fuel cell, c/m cage, Mustang II front suspension. Total weight will be around 3200LBS.

I'm leaning towards a SCAT, LIGHTWEIGHT PRO COMP BILLET crankshaft currently. Also looking at MANLEY and OLIVER billet "I" beam rods.

Maintenance and wear on them.

Cool

HI!... The billet "I" beam rods and the forged "H" beam rods are made from the same 4340 material. The Billet rods are machined from a sold chunck of 4340 where the forged rods are 4340 material that has been melted and poured into a mold and them machined. You can run BILLET rods/crank on the street all day for D/D's. There's tons of guys around here that do it. They never have problems. The billet is twice as strong as the forged.

You've been building that custom turbo setup for about three years now, why don't you actually do it instead of asking a bunch of questions about this super high dollar, high power build.

If they can handle the wear of a high horsepower racing motor why would a DD be any worse?
