Talking 160 STAT RESULTS, NOLOSENOEL IS BACK!

Installed my Hypertech 160 stat in time for raceing Friday nite. Right off the bat ran a 8.45 which was .01 off my best and temp was still77 degrees. Truck ran 8.51-8.52 all night long, one run after another. As temp dropped into the 60s and the delay was long I started the truck in the pits and let it run for 4 minutes to keep it at operating temp. The last run was after midnite. I cut a .51 lite and caught the mustang and stood on the brakes as the truck seemed to really be running good. Broke out anyway. 8.45 on an 8.48 dial in. Second overall. Big red had to run.
bottom line.--Last time with temps dropping I experienced .15 fluxuation in runs. I believe this was caused by engine cooling below thero opening range and then engine heating up, but not enough to open stat and caused times to flux. Remember consistantcy is the secrect to bracket racking (and good reaction times). To get away from my red lightning I was slow on the lights starting off cutting .61s but my last run was a .51. Lucky for me the guys I ran weren't doing any better. The Lord hepped me again.
The 160 degree thermostat is a winner in my opinion. Truck runs fine. No check engine lite.

noelvm,

Thanks for the info. I knew it didn't slow me down but I had done a couple of mods at the same time and couldn't say what had done what. I had been using them for years with good luck especially where forced induction can cause detonation.
