Wink Yet Another New Speed Mod

Here's a simple mod that has a huge impact on the truck appearance. I did this many months ago and forgot about it, then the other day I saw an L up ahead and couldn't figure out what was hanging from his bumper.

I cut it from 0.07" thick steel (not sure what gauge that is). The dimensions are 5-1/2" x 3-1/4" with a 2-1/8" hole. The last 1/2" is bent up to grip the hitch.

I used the original bolt to hold the bracket on, and new ss cap screws and nylon-insert nuts to hold the plug on.
I was worried about it pointing down, but there is a little catch built into the lid that keeps the trailer plug from falling out, and it is high enough that the wires aren't in danger of dragging on the ground.

Before & After

Not only does it look good, but the decrease in wind resistance must be worth at least 2 tenths.
