Post MI Lightnings...thanks for the fun time!

It was great meeting everyone. I had the oppertunity to see HighRisks 11 sec run. It's cool I finally got to meet everyone I have been reading about. I had my 1st runs on M/T streets. I guess I don't quite got those burnouts yet. My best was 13.330@104 with a 2.45 60' (ughh....). That track sucks. We'll have to get together at Norwalk sometime. Is it much farther away? It took me 5 hrs to get there and only 4 to get back, and yes I did go into work today.

Thanks
Dave

Milan is somewhat different from Rt.66 isn't Dave? At the SVT Experience that place was like a frozen lake. Cobras & Lightnings up in smoke and not the Cheech & Chong version !

I thought Byron had bad traction till I got to Milan. I guess I don't know how good I have it with one awesome track near by and two pretty good ones with in a hours drive.

Cool

ditto on the track surface,in west michigan i have three tracks within 50 minutes of my house. and it is well known that mid michigan motorplex is the best in the state.the motor city deserves a better surface to run on and should have at least three strips in the area .anybody that has a lot of money to invest should look into this,it would be a sure thing.gm does a lot of there testing at stanton, probably were they got there z06 e/t,for advertising.later

BlackSVT,
It was good to finally meet you. You are right about Milan having a pretty chitty launch pad. But since Detroit dragway closed Norwalk and the others are a pretty hefty cruise for a week night test and tune. I'm sure we'll set up another Norwalk run in the spring. You'll go 2/10 quicker there just from the prep. Sorry the slicks didn't work out but they take some getting used to. Those were the same tires I went 11.99 with at Norwalk.

It was great to see so many Lightning's and R/T's in one place. To bad it was so crowded. I did get a chance to talk to many of the L owners out there. I hope we can get together for another event in the future.

I agree that Milan sucks, the track surface it horrible and they way they manage the lanes has a lot to be desired. I am the kind of person that hates to stand in line. While in line in street class I watched the junior dragsters run twice and a snowmobile run 3 times. You would think they would take a minute and look back at the end of the lines and say, Hey we need to run these lanes for while and get the line down.

Maybe we can set up something for Stanton next spring. All in all I hope this event helped create some respect between L and R/T owners. I know there has been bad blood created by a couple of R/T owners that seem to subscribe to every automotive message board in existence.
