Cool New best

Finally starting to get some of the bugs worked out of my truck. I never realized how much the NOS pressure drops in cooler weather. 550 psi no heater, 1100psi after heater runs for 20 min. Also switched back to the 9" Level 10 convertor instead of the 10" Precision Industries.
Here's how it went:

r/t .660
60' 1.637
330' 4.783
1/8ET 7.459
1/8mph 91.27
1000' 9.815
1/4ET 11.848
1/4mph 110.85

I was snoozing at the lights but it left like a raped ape. Going to get with Jerry (Inject Tech) to get a good dyno tune on the chip. The BABolt wheels with the Goodyear slicks are working great. I had two other 12.0 runs tonight with 1.67 60' times. I'm very happy the way it's coming together. I think a good tune and a few more tricks 11.50's are possible.

Congrats on the fast times.
When you get a chance, can you email me some of your tips/tricks for a soon to be NOS installer?
Thanks,
Ryan

Nice Job Bob.
I was sure wishing that I could have used your headlights. Maybe next time. Very impressive runs from your Lightning.

Mike you need to incorporate the infamous BABolt tires and wheels on your 'stang.
For those of you who weren't there BABolt had his "stock" 2v GT there tonight.
Does this sound possible? Stall at the light, restart the car, almost a 3 second 60', run a 12.90 @ 128mph. Mike's GT is flat out bad. Once he gets it to hook up it is going to be rocket. This was all in full street trim and dot legal tires.

Too bad, I missed your second pass. Did you make it? That's gotta' be the stockest lookin' Mustang ever. If anyone runs across a stang with "Export" plates, and appears to be a V6, be careful; you may get warped by it.

Congrats again on the best time. I tried to catch that .5 reaction 12.0 time; but, my camera died again. Man, those things suck the juice. Good luck in Joyzeee!!

Calightning,
Don't know how much of this you already know but here's the whole scoop.
I had my truck dynoed back in the spring and found the convertor (9" Level 10) wasn't fully locked til 3800-4000 rpms. I decided this was way too high for all the low end torque these trucks make. So I got BABolt's 10" P.I. convertor he hadn't got around to installing. Put it in right before the Modular Shootout in Maryland. This convertor stalled around 2000 to 2500 (I didn't have it dynoed but it was alot tighter). This I felt was too tight and I went slower. Shortly afer Maryland I burned the OD gears out of the trans. At first I thought it was Convertor or drag racing related. But when Jerry opened it up found out it failed from too many high speed runs down the E-way. While the trans was getting rebuilt the ported heads were complete and I shipped the 9" back to Level 10 for a cleaning and to tighten it up. They verified that it was locking between 3800 and 4000 rpm they also said they had redisigned the stator since then. They said my convertor was one of the first Lightning convertors they did (it's about a year old). So off came the cab and on went the heads. The convertor wasn't back in time for the East meets Mid-West Shootout (which by the way both Ford trophys were taken by the Motor City Team)
So I but the 10" back in to run at the Norwalk race. Finally a couple days ago I got around to installing the 9" back in (Ford decided I should live at the plant the last couple of weeks). This was the first runs with the 9" convertor back in. Though the convertor is working better ALOT of the credit goes to the BABolt wheel/tire combo. It would be impossible to fully use the convertors ability without the awsome traction.

Sorry about the long post.

BaBolt:

What type of wheel and slick combo do you have? I am interested in a set soon, but not sure on what to get yet.

Thanks,
Justin

Bob,
Congradulations on the good runs, I knew you figure out your bugs soon enough I bet you cant wait for the cool fall air of E-Town NJ.
Just last night we had a Barometric pressure of 32.11 at Cecil County Maryland.
