calling Rob 99L

Hi Rob,
been reading your old post about your coil wiring problem and would like to ask when Sal replaced your loom was it the whole engine bay to pcm loom and how much did it cost? any info on labour time would be helpful.
Reason i ask is the rear 3 coil plugs on passenger side showing no change to idle when unplugged so i'm thinking there is a break in the wiring after the first coil on that side.
I've had idle issues and was told it was plugged cats so took them off and it is better now found this.
The other possibility somebody suggested is without mil eliminators the computer has turned off voltage to those plugs?
please tell me what you think

Mark

Hey Mark how you doing Pal

I was VERY LUCKY and found my Harness used on E-Bay for like nothing,
think I got it for @50.00
give or take 10.00

I bought the complete engine harness

Sal put it in for a very reasonable price, and of what he told me although yes it's a PITA to do
it's really not too bad and you could prob do it yourself with no prob

Unfortunately Mark I dont know about mil eliminators and computer turning
off voltage to those plugs?

Hopefully someone can help there ???

Thanks Rob,
guess i`ll start by pulling my harness and trying to make a repair, the chances of finding one on ebay are very slim and yes you were very lucky in finding one, although with the problems you`ve had with your trucks over the years u deserved a bit of luck!

i put mine back on when i put in the built motor...it takes some good time to try to lay it in there and hide as much as you can and make it as neat as possible. Before i put that back in my engine bay looked so clean and almost like a old muscle car engine bay....then it got ruined but still looks better than factory

A friend popped the hood on his Toyota Tundra at work yesterday. He has the 4.7L. The engine bay is so clean, and everything is so accessible, that I had a moment of envy. It passed quickly.

Well, after taking the time out to pull the harness and check the wiring for continuity it turns out the harness is fine and my pcm is fried!!!
What a PITA it was getting that m/f in and out.
Oh well, currently trying ebay to source a new pcm, anybody out there done this to give me idea of price?

Thanks
Mark
