Cool

My test drive was a couple of WOT's. I bought the same truck (had a choice of 4). I didn't constantly trash it went it was brand new but I didn't stay out of it either. I waited until I had 1500 miles on it before I went to the track.

I've got a cousin who's flogged every vehicle
he's ever owned right from the start ( car, truck or motorcycle) and they're always the fastest one when put against the same vehicle of someone else's. GO FIGURE. I've done my share of breakin's and it didn't seem to help.

Since Ford doesn't use break in oil any more I have always been told to drive it the same way your going to drive from now on. That's way I do all my new cars.

Talking

I hate to admit it, but my L's break-in period lasted about two blocks! I guess I'm not a very patient person.

Thumbs up

I picked my red L up at the
dealer after driving a black one and a red one. I went with the fastest one. The black L cut out 4 cylinders and boost on the 1-2 shift. The red L spun the tires, hard on take off and chirped the tires on the 1-2 shift.
Took deliverly, red L, in the afternoon drove straight to the track-(5)- 1/4 mile W.O.T runs later no more nubbins on the rear tires. Drove it twice to three times to the track each week there after. NEVER been anywhere near a dealer in 11,300 miles and is still getting faster.
Chip it,filter it, tire it,
etc.

If it breaks, can you say
"WARRANTY"!!!!.

Come-on!!-Drive it like you feel about your EX-WIFE!!!!

Dan

Hey Pawn, You must be talking about Wayne Ford on Route 46. I work about 2 miles from them in fairfield and when I was looking for my lightning they wanted 2k over msrp for it. no way. I bought my L in PA. outside of allentown for $1000 over invoice. when I bought my 95 lightning wayne ford would not come lower than 20,500 for it. I found one in PA. brand new for $18,500. NJ is too overpriced go to penn for the deals. thanks 95rcobra.

John,

Picked mine up at the dealers lot, was easy with the throttle untill the freeway (1/2 mile)...then to the floor and over 100 mph. The only way to "break" them in
