A/F Gauge hook up?
Kevin
On my AutoMeter gauge the black is ground, red hot wire and the violet goes to the sensor.
Two questions---
1) How did you run run the sensor thru the firewall?
2) How did you get to the sensor wire? I can barely see it coming off manifold, if I look really hard I can see where the PCM side hooks into the sensor but how did you get to it?

Got my Phantom A/F gauge today (standard one, not the modified one). It's a good looking gauge. The installation instructions are a bit misleading. They have a picture of the back of the gauge. At the bottom of the gauge picture there are red, black and violet wires shown which are on the back of the actual gauge. At the top of the gauge picture there are black and white wires shown that are nowhere to be found on the actual A/F gauge. In fact on the actual gauge there is a silver plug where these wires would be. So it would be safe to assume that there is no light in this gauge.
On the back of the boost gauge the black and white wires are there and are for the gauge backlite.
Guess it costs too much money to produce an picture that actually matches the product.
Now if that darn Lo-Tek piller would find it's way back......

I just installed part of my F/A gauge. The black is for ground, the red is hot and the violet is for the sensor, if you can get to it which I am having trouble.
No back light, I'm guessing that the LEDS will light up so you can see.
Boost gauge was easy to install and mine is working.
If you go to: http://www.autometer.com/hp/index.html
and once there, look for the Teck/FAQ's on the left of the site, it will give you pictures and instructions regarding the A/f gauge
It's the sensor hook up that I need help to get done.

Are you out there??
I'm running this through again

Jim - there should be a grommet somewhere behind the dash that goes thru the firewall to the engine compartment. Sometimes you can slip things through along side another one that is already there. The wire from the gauge that needs to go through is pretty thin so there should be several places.
I haven't looked at the sensor yet to see what the hook up is going to be like but the fun you are having with it is starting to get me concerned.
Keep us advised on your progress.

Noel suggested that we drill a small hole thru the grommet that the boost line goes thru. That is a great thought. It is a large grommet and should work perfectly.
Tomorrow, I'll that the L to a gas station and have them raise it up. I should be able to get to the O2 from underneath.
