Question Service Engine Soon---Strange question

Everyone,

Over the last 1 month or so, everytime I put gas in the truck the "Service Engine Soon" light comes on. As per the manual, Bad Gas, improper fuel cap operation or low gas can cause this.

After 3 cool/warm/cool cycles, it goes away.

I have filled up from different stations, Texaco, Exxon and Amoco all with the same results.

I have had the superchip since feb 00 and its never happened before this.

Is it posssible that I have a faulty gas cap or there is some sensor in the tank causing this??? I would think if it were bad gas or chip, the light would stay on all the time.

I am hesitant to take it to the dealer for anything because of their past service record with the L.

Any suggestions???

Thanks in advance,

Start at square one... pull the chip, after you disconnect the battery. Then see what happens.

Make sure ACT Sensor plugged in OK(see you have a PSP filter).

If light continues to come on gas cap not too expensive.

You may be overfilling it. Had a Lincoln Mark VIII that did the same if I filled it to far up the neck.
Short Fill next time and see what happens.
