Lightning Drift Truck??

I am having the crazy idea of taking my Lightning drifting. I tried a bit about a month ago at the end of a drift event my friends organized and the truck wasn't half bad, the only problems really being a bit loose suspension, slow steering, the lack of a handbrake, and the lim slip is not that great. But overall I think just as good as my drift mustang gt was. I am now working at making a floor hand brake lever instead the pedal. Anybody know where I could possibly get coilovers for the truck to get it even lower and stiffer? What about anti roll bars? Mine currently has eibach springs, shackles, hotchins tuned bilstein sport shocks (new) and rear leaf spring stiffeners. Anybody seen a Lightning drifting, I would like to see? I am having a short block built now finally... so hopefully i will have about 450Hp to the wheels, plenty for drifting. Any ideas on how to make the truck lighter? I was thinking about removing the bed altogether for the events??? There is a event coming up hopefully in February at the southflorida fairgrounds, and hopefully i can brake in my new engine by then and find a set of 17/16 inch wheels...

Man you do have the right screen name

Hey if not anything else it sure does look like a lot of fun

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...62450386834155

And learning how to drift seems like a blast

camera guy has some *****, I expected he'd be dead with that a-hole driving

BUT sometimes I think there needs to be MORE RULES AND REGULATIONS
LIKE NO A$$HOLES AND SHOWOFFS ALLOWED

Personally I think the truck is too high, too heavy, and the beating it takes is just insane.....
But hey I'd love to see a Vid of it anyway

Loved that first link, from my home country of Finland. I've been to the track at Alastaro several times watching races... same track where Kimi Raikkonen and Mika Hakkinen practiced. Its cool to see how many different cars they drift in europe, there were several Opel's and I even saw a Lada and a Skoda drifting on that vid. Happy New Year!

There is plenty that can be done to the suspension, just depends on how much you want to spend. 4-Link and coilovers for the rear would be nice but not necessary for what you want to do. Hotchkis rear leaf springs, Ruslow 1200+ pound front coils, urethane bushings, Hotchkis sway bars, panhard bars, and 58" traction bars will transform your truck nicely. QA1 or other adjustable shocks. Go to a 35 series tire.
