Post clunk...any good dealerships in so cal

Ok...i have had the clunk sound for about 1 month..just never brought it in. Yesterday I brought the truck in for what I thought would be an easy fix...considering I printed out all the info from here to help the techs troubleshooting. I asked if they worked on SVT vehicles..the answer was yes of course..no problem! After about 6 hours I call back and they tell me they are not sure if they can work on it because it is SVT. WHAT???? Then 20 minutes later they call me back and say they can!! 5 hours later I cal back to hear that they have got it up and are checking it out. I told them evrything I know of the problem and they have all the printed and highlighted info. Well 7pm rolls around and I give em a call to find out whats going on...they tell me evrybodys gone home! Today I get a call at about 7am and they tell me they cant hear the noise and I need to come down to show them:::CRAP!!! Now keep in mind Im pissed off because they arent keeping informed at all. So I catch a ride and go down there...I get in the truck with the tech...back the truck up turn to the left when backing up CLUNCK!!!!! I look at the guy and hes staring off into lala land! I ask him if hes enjoying the tour and to pay the &^%$ attention..I didnt come down here to take him to 7 eleven....he looks at me and says....oh that sound..its normal...it means it needs an alignment..I bout smacked the guy in the head for that one! I do it again and tell him...that its wrong!!.. He says well if you say so ...your the tech ..and get a smirk on his face....I felt my blood pressure going up and started to breathe deep..MAN i was pissed. I go see the service advisor and he says they wll call svt and confirm the problem. 4pm I call back and the SOB tell me " well we are still waiting to find out if we can work on SVT vehicle"....Guys Id love to but I will not post what I started screamin at the idiot! I told him to get the director on the phone NOW. I told the director what a cluster &^%$ that place is and its no wonder they cant work on SVt vehicles...basically nothing got accomplished and I have my truck back...I need to know if there is a place in SO. CAl that has worked with any of you and understand what the heck is going on?

By the way this place is called Hemborg Ford in Corona...they suck, the service sucks, the advisors dont know a thing about cars or trucks and DONT take you car or truck there!!
Thanks for listening,
sebastian

Hey Seb nice to see you here again!

You may want to try Fritts Ford (where I bought my Lightning), and talk to either Scott Oaks or the General Manager (forgot the name), they are not tech service but they have authority and have always been very helpful in dealing with SVT matters. They are in Riverside.

I did not take my truck there for the clunk I took it to Tuttle Click Ford in Irvine Auto Center, I have not had the clunk sound since I first took it in almost a year ago. I have however taken it in twice for the sliding control arm bolt issue and they only did the usual - lock tite and torque routine. So far so good but I wouldn't be surprised if it started sliding again later on down the line.

The next place I will try is Sunset Ford (where I bought my mustang), they have a whole floor for SVTs and a couple guys here have recommended them.

Let us know how it goes!

Mike

P.S. what is your email address again I want to save it in my address book.

Oh yeah no one has mentioned Santa Margarita Ford they say their sales people work on salary (no commission), who knows they may have a better service dept too.

Try Sunset Ford in Westminster. They're at the 22 and 405. The dealership owner has a Lightning and they've always taken care of me very well.

n20boy, I had my clunk fixed at Sunset Ford. They put some huge bolt on the driver side A arm and greased the stops. No clunk for the past month. Ask them to check alignment after the fix. I had a good experience hopefully you will too. Good luck!
