Headers
Yes I know this subject has been discussed alot, and yes I did the search (two hours w/200 threads), but I need more info.
I want to put long tube headers and a complete exhaust system on my '99L.
Everyone seems to have an opinion on what to get and what not to get, so here's my question.
Long tube headers, highflow cats, H-pipe, and mufflers.
Has anyone put a system together and had it dynoed/flow tested? My concern is that if I mix and match, no one has a complete setup, will I lose low end torque because of my enthusiasm for flow?
I've seen a couple of nice sets of headers on the board, but what matches up best? Or does it even matter what you throw behind them?

Sorry, I can't find the posts or re-posts but BABOLT has photos of his headers that were built for him (they look fantastic). I know he will be doing a dyno soon because he dynos everything. I'll also waiting for his info. because I'm also considering them.

tim, babolt has aready run his on the dyno, not exactly sure of the figures. they are a great looking and manufactured set of tubes and steve at CUSTOM FRABRICATED HEADERS is very knowledgable/friendly to talk to. 313-537-4456 can't tell you that he has a whole system because he custom fabs his stuff but maybe he could reccomend something for your ap. http://mikesmotorsport.virtualave.net/new_page_4.htm this is a pic of his headers installed, i think he runs bassani mufflers and believe me his truck sounds sweet. he has a set of stainless steel headers also built by steve that he is going to polish. i just bought a set and this is how good they look up close. http://www.zing.com/album/?id=4293955253
Hi Guys!
I dyno tested my long tube headers several months (June) ago. The power from them is about 5% of your horsepower. The fewer mods that you have the lower the gain that you will see. I have no Cats and I use Borla mufflers. The system is all stainless steel. At ldle and driving around town there is just a very deep bass note. The pressure wave will set off alarm systems (I love it) and at wide open throttle it sounds like a 60's big block muscle car / street rod. It is all under control with the application of the throtttle. There are many Lightning owners here that can attest to the sound. You will have a good time trying to package Cats and an H pipe behind long tube headers and retain the stock exhaust outlet.

BaBolt:
I have no problem going w/o the cats, no more inspections in Fla.
What did you do about the O2 sensor after the cats. Chip mod? If so, who?
I'd still like to do the H pipe if possible and definately want to keep the side exhaust.
Setting off peoples car alarms will be a gas...pun intended.
Thanks for the info......e-mailed Mike already.
