Talking Carbon Fiber Drive Shafts. GET READY!

OK. I just got the first CFDS air expressed to me today. I plan to have it in and on the dyno tomorrow and to the drags on Wednesday. I will post my thoughts after I give my input to Jeff at Inland Empire. Looks to be very high quality. Take a look.

PS. It weighs 16 pounds complete. It really is light.

The same price that everyone else entered in at $790.00. If you got in on the group purchase that is your price. There is still time to get in on this.

If possible I will wait to see the dyno results. Was there an estimate on how Much HP would be gained at the rear wheels. What is the weight of the stock DS.

I had an ACPT Carbon Fiber Shaft on my Z-28 who I sold to the lead installer at Nitrous Express in Wichita Falls, Tx. I bought a Lightning in place of the Z......the carbon fiber spooled quicker...excuse the pun...it was a SOTP improvement!

Hey 38 top gun
Can I go with you. Just fly by and you can pick me up at Willow Run. Here is a cool tip Stuart Fla. is the Sailfish capital of the World (I go there ever year). I caught a 6.5 ft. Sailfish there a few years back. I about died reeling that thing in. Hey have fun.

PS. I let the fish go. Did not want to kill such a beautiful fish.

I intend to run the dyno test but I really don't think there will be an increase in torque / horsepower. I do believe that the efficiency will be in the reduction of rotating mass. Add to this a quality torque converter (less weight there too) and there should be a dramatic improvement in the 60 ft. times. Stock drive shaft is over 30 pounds.

If there is any performance difference its a bonus, as far as I'm concerned. For me its a safety issue, particularly since I don't want to install a driveshaft loop.

Bolt...did I miss something, you got a new truck? Question I'm going to have a custom chip burned and dynoed next week heard anything good or bad about custom chips? The guy who is doin it is the one who puts V10's in Mustangs and has a turbo gen1 "L" running mid 12's. Have you seen them in the mags? I think he'll do a good job he loves Fords.

Yes. Another truck it was a good deal. In regards to the chip guys the difference is only a matter of degrees. They can all yield good results and it come down to what your wants are.
