Cool My dream has come true!

I can't believe it, I am finally getting a Lightning. I saw the post about Bloomington Ford yesterday and I called them this morning. To make a long story short, I will be driving a new Red 00 sometime next week. My new L will be on a truck over the weekend from Indiana to North Carolina.

This is just unbelievable because I never thought I could get a good deal on a Lightning. Around here, Lightnings go for MSRP or more. I was planning on ordering a 2001 and thinking that I would pay MSRP for it.

Three weeks ago I test drove a Black 99 L with 10,600 miles on it. The lowest I could get them to go was $28,900 and it needed new rear tires.

I am getting a new 2000 L for a lot less than that. The L market is crazy.

Cool

Thankyou, I am so excited, I can hardly contain myself. I have wanted an L since I first heard about the 99 model, I can't even remember now when that was, but sometime in late 98 maybe.

Cool

Congradulations!
Get ready to spend a lot more than you paid for the truck. First mod and........off you go.

Enjoy the ride.

Congrats and welcome aboard.

If you think spending the bucks for the L was expensive wait until you start considering mods. I buy mods then another better and faster one comes out. I then take the old off (old meaning at least four weeks old)and replace it with another $350.00 item. it doesn't quit.

I know this may be a travesty, but my new L is going to stay "bone stock" for a long, long time. Mobil 1 will be my only mod. Hehe

Mracer, Put a chip & filter in that truck!!! You'll never want to go back to stock. Best $433.00 I ever spent. I don't want to go crazy with mods, but knocking a second off is nice. Now that I sent the chip back to be reprogramed, the truck is boooorrrring! Lloyd

Cool

That's what I said when I bought mine. Then I started reading this board. If you're going to spend over $30,000 for a performance vehicle, you might as well spend the extra $1,500 for a chip, MAF, and gears and turn it from a docile work truck to a corvette eating monster.

At least you got the "right" color. You don't need mods cause red scares the hell out of them. Have fun.

Talking

Hey mracer, I just got back from Ford and took one last look at your truck before it heads down to you. I also talked with the salesman there and he was amazed that people from different parts of the country would be interested in checking with Blgtn Ford.

mracer

I definitely would keep it "bone stock." That way when you're out in California, I won't have to worry about you when I race from stop sign to stop sign.

let us know when it arrives and one BIG CONGRATS!

Thanks again everyone. This board is full of good people and good information.

LightningNut, so you saw my truck? Was everything ok? I've got a little bit of jitters about buying sight-unseen, but I think I will be ok.

Now, I just have to suffer for 7 days or so until it arrives. The waiting is already killing me, but I take solace in the multi-G savings.

Mracer:

You may have multi-G savings now, but just wait... You'll be infected just like the rest of us soon enough...
