Thumbs up

My wife drives a Grand Prix GTP (SC) and it runs on 92 so I don't have to worry. But again she won't drive the L even after I tell her to, because she dosen't want to hear me if something happens to it.

I'm with Super Chicken on this one, my wife is afraid to drive it, she knows she would be in deep crap if something happened to it

Question

What about all the hooplah a few days ago where some posters said that their computer fuel ratings were set to 87 octane or left blank (instead of being set at 90 octane) to prevent damage from just this type of thing? Any comments?

Ya want hooplah? Empty your gas tank, fill it with 87. You'll have alot to oooh ahh hooplah about.
Yes, it idles fine, can even slowly drive ok. But hit the gas peddle a little harder, excelerate a little faster, and nuh uh. All there is, is coughing and spitting then a kinda take off.
Cruel joke to play on someone though, they wouldn't know what the hell happened.
Hmmm, halloween is coming up.....

Last night after a night out, nice steak and drinks, my girlfriend announces that she thinks that I spend more more on my Lightning than her. Another big argument this morning........I sure am going to miss her

This wasn't easy to find, guess just like any NOS products anyways, but got NOS Racing Formula, didn't have any street formula in stock. So apparently I'm now running 96. Ya know, I think with the gas prices, this is the cheaper route actually...
$40 for 87 + $10 for NOS juice= $50 for 96 oct.
Anyways, gonna run this tank dry before I fill up again, just don't like fuel additives, there's to much in the gas already.
Thanks all and Jupiterak and MRBBQMAN, the NOS juice was the right one, got my zap back again.

Cheers

I bought my truck on 9-6-00. So far I am not impressed- 9.13 best 1/8th mile-thought these things were 'sposed to be fast. Already been beat on the street by a stock 91 camaro with a TPI and 150,00 miles. Lately I've been asking the wife if I can drive her car-just to satisfy my need for speed. My other truck (which I was going to sell after buying the L but now I'm not sure now) will run right with the L and gets better gas mileage and runs on 87 octane. It is an 88 chev with an LT-1 from a 96 T/A

AUTOMAN

I'm guessing by the sound of it, your new L IS NOT BLACK. Don't feel sad, owners of other colors feel the same as you.

Automan,

I'd suggest you go back to the Ford dealer, and ask the salesman to show you how to disengage the parking brake.

HAHA, thanks BadDog, needed a laugh today.

Automan, there was a couple stock L's at a recent drag meet I was at, both of them pulled about as good as my L did, in the mid 13's 1/4. I've been monkeying around for a while now with my L, I got a best of 13.17. I can't get the tuning right if my life depended on it I don't think. That time was made before my 4.10 install, maybe better know, who knows.
Trying to get my L to the 400 HP marker without a shot, should get me into the mid 12's. I'm only 20HP off, so waiting around for the next supermod and see where that gets me.

Cheers

Don't lose faith fellas...... there are still some of us "women" that know what octane fuel to use.

Hell, some of us can even turn a wrench..... do our own mods..... and drive. What a concept.

PS. We can cook too.
