Superchip R9 and Airraid installed tonight!
Just got a new R9 for my 99 and can't be happier. Side one is CUX1R9 and side 2 is CUX1TRAX9. There is a noticible difference between shift firmness and shift point (side 1 @ 5200 side 2 @ 5400). Both spin through 1st but side 2 continues into 2nd. This was done on a 95 degree day at 2600 ft elevation with a hot L to boot (boost finally hit the 10 mark for the first time). I am anxiously awaiting a new visit to the track. I ran 14.4 @ 96 (which was quite well compared to others for the conditions ie. beat a syclone by over a second) last visit when the truck was stock under similiar conditions. Are these the two programs you all with 99's are getting when ordering the R9 program? I also added a used (thanks shmsvt) airaid system and have had the custom x pipe in place of the muffler for some time now. I waited for a year for these mods and they definately make the truck seem like a different rig. I had no problems with new cobra's with the fix and new Z28SS's prior the mods, I can't wait to see how big a difference these changes made at the track.
Borak63,
I have not been back to the dyno yet. I am having problems with the R9 chip. I am having bad detonation in 3rd and 4th gears over 4500 rpms. It looks like no matter what kind of gas I put in it, it still pings. Last night I was driving around and I completely lost boost for like 5 minutes after flooring it once. After all of these problems are sorted out I will take it back to the dyno but this will probably be quite a while because I am afraid I will have to send the chip back. I will keep everyone updated on what happens. I did take it to the track and ran a 13.43 @ 100.7 last weekend pinging all the way through the last 25% of the 1/4 so it is running fast despite the problems.

SCC2000L, I've had problems losing boost with the R7 program. If you shut your truck off then restart boost returns instantly! I watch the boost gauge at the end of the burnout, If it goes south I shut it down restart & stage. boost returns! I'm hoping the R9 upgrade will cure this for My truck. One last thing, When at the track Mix some race gas in with your 93 octane if it pings. Lloyd

Lloyd,
I hope the R9 fixes your problem. It is definetely a buzz kill to loose your boost.
I could have gotten race fuel to fix the problem at the track, but the problem is that it has the same problem all of the time no matter what gas I use which is not acceptable. Maybe my truck is very particluar since it is supposed to be rare to get either boost or ping problems but I have both, maybe I have a faulty chip?

SCC2000L,
Have you checked for inner-cooler leaks. Right before I found my leak, my L was pinging same as yours and octane booster was not helping. I understand that coolant makes O2 sensor lazy and leans motor. Other system is misfire at idle and low cruise. Shot in the dark, but as much as these coolers leak its possible. Good luck.
