If you have a flip chip which side is it detonating? Side one on mine is CUX1R9, side 2 is CUX1TRAX9. I haven't heard any detonation on mine yet, but just installed it yesterday. Had a good run last night with a newer Z28. As entering an empty freeway (long curved on-ramp)at 1130pm I stayed on his rear as he tried to pull away. Once we straightened out I was able to pull the 4 lengths I gave him on the curve. I pulled up to his left door and shut it down at 110 (don't usually run this fast on the street but no one was around). He looked over as I pulled up and kept going as I let off. Upset ya think?? I too like the changes this has made along with the airaid system and fabricated x pipe bolted in place of muffler.

 

I have never had ping one with either the current R9 or the previous program from Superchips which I ran for 6 months. I am noticing a little uneven running in third at steady throttle. I'm not sure how to describe the phenomenon, but it sounds like it a slight miss. At WOT it is smooth as silk - as far as that goes at light throttle acceleration it is also smooth. It is only noticed at even throttle typically before it shifts into overdrive. It reminds me of the way my Harley sounds at slow speeds with even throttle. Sort of a burbly sound. Tach does not vary while it is doing that. I've been meaning to compare the R9 with the stock side of the flip chip, but I cannot bring myself to give up any driving time with that wonderful program!

shonut: i just have a single program chip,CUX1R9 It really makes me wonder about the quality of the gas around here though. Might try a few gallons of race unleaded to see what it does.
Sandy:I havent noticed any uneven running at steady throttle myself.

Purrrrrrfect at all throttle positions. I am running the CUX1R9 with a Pro-M 80mm MAF and K&N filter. Ran 13.532 last night with that set-up, and detected no dentonation or pinging.

Anyone know the programmed difference between the CUX1R9 and the CUX1TRAX9. As stated earlier, these are the two sides on my superchip and I couldn't be happier. I do notice a higher shift point on the TRAX9 program along with a harder shift. I do also detect a difference in how the torque converter locks between programs I believe at full throttle. I am angious to see what they do for me at the track. Anyone with these two programs?

 

Billy (Carolina Lightning) have we met? You state that you have a Stang. Do you run in CCRA? If so you may have seen me there tonight with Rusty in the white LX coupe. A member crashed and we never made a pass, loaded up and came home.
I just got the CUX2R9 and no problems whatsoever! No pinging at all. I run Citgo 93 gas.
Any ET's from the track on that 99 L ?

issue is that i have a little detonation at higher rpms in drive(3rd). Under normal
driving conditions i never hear a bit. Only
at WOT in 3rd. <not saying why i would be

Ryan, i dont believe we have met. Havent
ran in the CCRA with my stang. What track were you all at this evening?
I live about 15-20 miles southeast of Charlotte myself. I generally race at Rockingham,moorsville(1/8),or Jefferson/Pageland,SC(1/8).
Tonight i took the L down to J/P and made a few t-n-t runs before they got thier bracket program going. Ran a 8.77@80.2 mph with a 2.01 60' Just have the R9 and a small autophysics type cone filter mated to the stock mass air with an adapter i made. ET doesnt seem that bad to me but i thought it might run more along the lines of 81-82mph.
I'm planning to go to Rockingham Friday Sept. 29 for t-n-t. Thats the next friday they run t-n-t and that i'm also off work. Come on down that night if you can.

I've had my r9 in for about a week and have not had any detonation or ping. I too use Citgo, supposed to be a local high burn blend according to Mike(Superchips).

I also am having the same sound and feel that you are. Sounds like its missing at constant speed but roars through at WOT.
Don't know what to make of it. Gonna call Mike on Monday and get some feedback from him.

Caught it on another board. Missing is probably a bad coil. I'll take it to the dealership tomorrow and see what the deal is. The other thread mentioned that when he took his to the dealership, they replaced the coils but at the same time updated his computer to the 2000 program (supposedly a better program). If that is true than we will have to have our chips reburned before they will work.

If I remember correctly, his L would not start and the thought was that his old chip and the new program was the cause.

I could be wrong but I believe Mike Troyer stated on his post there is no converter lockup on the trac 9 program.
On the CUXR9?

I believe his car would not start with the chip after the replacement of the coil due to the fact they had updated his 99 program to the 2000. Hence, the old 99 chip would not even allow the engine to start.
