Angry Should I be disappointed?????

Just got back from the Atlanta Dragstrip. I had high hopes of running a high 13. Drove 50 minutes to the track and immediately ran- 14.201 with 60' of 2.163. That was the best. The 8th and last run was (haha, this sucks) 14.545 with 60' of 2.361. Track was going away right after sun went. All trap speeds were 96 to 97 mph. I also noticed that in 2nd & 3rd gear at WOT, there was a stumble after gear change. Whats up????????

Thumbs up

What altitude is the track at ?
How many miles has the truck on ?
You will get at least another 10% of power after around 1500 - 2500 miles. The stumble after the gearshift is Ford's way of getting away from warranty work on your drivetrain.

Track is 1000' or less.
Temp was 70 when I got there, and dropped off to 64 when I left.
Truck has 2700 miles, and bone stock.

I could not run better than 14.01 before the chip.

You also need to check your intercooler fluid level. Do not race the engine when cold, but cooler than just driving off the highway.

Have a friend look (and listen) for wheelspin, these F1's are not always audible or easy to feel when momentary breaking loose. And depending on the traction, you might be getting wheelspin at the end of first gear or beginning of second.

There is another condition called lost of boost after too hard a burnout (gearbox oil temp) or when hitting the ref limiter. But that gives a 16 sec 1/4 mile

Well, after a bit of relaxing and a couple of adult beverages, just a few observations from the evening. There were 6 L's at the strip. There were 2 in particular. The first had 3500 miles, chip, filter, and the smaller snout pulley and managed a best of 13.54 early in the night. The second had a filter kit only and produced a best of 13.99. Guess I should not be quite so hard on myself. I'm pretty sure we all overpowered the track towards the end.

Actually Atlanta Dragway is at 1100ft elevation which does slightly hurt times. I know everytime i've been there for a FFW event i seem to be off a tenth or two as compared to my "home" track. <Rockingham Dragway@375ft elevation>
