Can anyone tell me what the difference is between "99 and 2000 Lightning's air filters? I want to get a K&N stock replacement (I know the cones are better but I want the stock look) and all they have are the filters for 99's. What's the difference? They look the same from the outside. Thanks.

I can't answer this question but would ask that you rethink about the cone filter. The only mod I've done is the PSP filter and I would highly recommend it...as would anybody else that has one. Like you, I'm not real big on changing things but this was definitely a worthwhile addition. The sound is incredible. I think the Superchip R9 is also the one other change I want to make.

Yoda is right and if you do a search here you will find that lots of us have tried the K&N Panel filters and few if any of us have seen any HP or seat of the pants difference

I have one on the shelf right now that I replaced with PSP. The difference is night and day....

I will back up JMI and Doug on the cone filter. It lets that poor choked motor inhale nice and heavily, and even without a chip (another must have) you will feel a satisfying HP increase.

Definately go for the cone replacement And a chip. You will not believe the difference.
Iused the Airaid and would recommend it to any and all. (Relax guys, I've never used any of Sal's stuff.....could never get a reply) R9 superchip is awesome.
