Ok, got a little bit of rest.

Other than the washout on Sunday and my fuel pump tossing in the towel 40 miles from home leaving me stranded for 2.5 hours, I had an AWESOME time.

Everyone in our "storm cloud" was very cool and it was nice to finally be able to put some faces with names (learn real names in some cases), enguage in non-posting conversation, have a few/several cold ones, etc. I never knew Winney the Pooh liked Bud Light.....

As far as my racing performance went, I was happy happy as this was my first track time with the R9 program.

Next best run was against Silverbullet in the first round.

Speedy Silverbullet
Dial: 13.60 13.25
R/T: .837 .843
60': 2.039 1.966
330: 5.752 5.548
1/8: 8.793 8.530
MPH: 80.96 81.80
1000: 11.417 11.139
1/4: 13.654<<win 13.344
mph: 100.60 102.27

Gotta like that. Sorry Steve, gotta rib you a little bit. OBTW, Mrs Johnny L has the video of your most excellent 3.1 sec 60'.

I lost to the sandbagging local beater F150 that Gordon so eloquently described above in the second round. Oh well, I still had a blast.

Best run overall (and to date) was/is 13.56 @ 100.89 with a 1.975 60' on F1's set at 30 psi with the items in my signature. More to come......

I will DEFINITELY be at the World Ford Challenge next spring.

As I get my pictures back and fire up the scanner, I'll send/post them and provide appropriate linkage.

Gordon, don't forget that "Chains" showed up too.

Speedin Bob,

Yeah I forgot about Chains. he didn't bring his Lightning, and I overlooked him. I have edited my post to add him.

Like you, I was pleasantly surprised by how cool EVERYONE was. I had great talks with everyone there, and thoroughly enjoyed all the on-track and off-track festivities.

I absolutely can't wait for the next big get-together, and I too will be at the WFC.

Cool

Hey everyone - I posted 30+ pictures at Zing. I captioned a few but also missed quite a few (hint: I need some help!!). If you have problems locating the album do a SVT search at Zing and it's at the bottom. It was my first time with a digital camera and my first time posting pix so please forgive the mistakes. E-mail me at cepat71@msn.com with changes/suggestions. Thanks for your help!!!

I won't be available until Wednesday or Thursday so don't think I'm ignoring you.

Chuck

The SilverBullet giving a lesson in what not to do. This is a sticky track too.

=== 3.1 60 ft...

Now your wondering how I launched?
1000 RPM Brake Torque, but didn't roll out enough, stabed it a little to quick and shocked the tires... Time to put the slicks on, next run had a 1.94 60 ft and best off 1.901 for the day.

WoW, what a great weekend.Gordon says it best, It was great to have met all of you. It was sad it had to end so quickly. I think next time we should plan for a whole week of Drag racing LOL

HIGHRISK,
If the fan club wants to switch over to Empty Pockets Racing fan club, then I should be allowed to join the HIGHRISK Racing fan club

Now I just need to figure out where SILVERBULLET added all that lead weight to my beast . I still cant believe in street trim I weighed in at 4920(220 Driver).

I averaged in the 13.28-13.36 range all weekend. Johnny ran 13.teens all weekend, with a 13.0? in the Ohio heat WOW

Hey Gordon,

I noticed you didn't mention that I made it there on Friday night for test and tune. I can only guess that you are jealous of my .500 reaction time. Sure, JohnnyLightning was in the ballpark with a .501, but that was the closest anyone got. It was great meeting everyone Friday night. It's nice to put faces to names. Maybe next year I can make the competition races on Saturday.

TomG,

If memory serves me correctly, Baddog Gordon cut a .502 light and broke out by .01 to take second place.

I have the pic of the scoreboard...very cool.

Spiro,
There are several soberity and mental evaluations that you must fail before a fan club application can be taken. The girls got a large chuckle out of the posts. The pooh bears might be up for an award for the worst reaction time or worst 60' ft at the next get together.

PS- Topcat jr. you can't barrow your dad's L and intentionally cut a 3 sec. reaction time and a 10 second 60' just to get the pooh bear award.
