Motorcycle ramps
I'm hoping someone can help me out. I'm looking for a ramp that I can load my VMAX into the truck bed. It has to fit in the bed or at least no longer than the tailgate when dropped, and yet the angle to the bed needs to be such I can ride my bike up into the truck without killing myself. It has to be sturdy enough to hold 600 lbs. of motorcycle and me (180). Are there any of you Harley or touring bike owners who know of such an animal? I've ridden sportbikes quite a few times up similar ramps, but they were 200+ lbs. lighter.
I searched the Lightning FAQ and much of the F150 site. Either I'm blind or I couldn't find anything.
Thanks for the time.

A word of caution - don't ride over the center of your tailgate without added support (3/4" plywood). The bike will permanently bow the inside wall of your tailgate. There are commercial ramps built for loading cruisers (I have a Valkyrie), but I have a ditch near my house that is perfect for loading a bike. Also when the bike starts up the ramp, if you have problems before the front tire gets up in the bed, you're dead meat. Your feet will be two feet off the ground and you will be in no-mans land. I can imagine that it would be no fun being body slammed by a 600+ pound bike.
About 10 years ago or more I had a thing called a Versa Ramp that folded up like an accordion against the tailgate. I used it to load my Suzuki Quadsport. Me and the quad weighed about 600 lbs. I was able to drive it right up and SLAM into the front of the bed. I put BIG dents in the front of the bed and the wheel wells from hitting it with tooo much speed.
I couldnt find any info on the net in a 2 minute search.

Chaparral motorcycle supply has a heavy duty street bike ramp in their catalog. It is steel and rated up to 1,000 pounds. Is 6' long, and much more expensive than the light duty dirt bike ramps. Price is $120 plus shipping.
Their phone # is 800-841-2960
Oh yeah, dropping you back tires into a low spot like where the street meets the driveway makes loading & unloading a lot easier.

Rallyone,
Try these folks, http://www.ramp-master.com/
The ramp is extruded T6 aircraft aluminum.
They are fully width, so your feet stay the same height as the bike.
Supposed to be able to hold A 1000 lb. GL1500 Gold Wing, a VMax should not be a problem.

You might want to check out the C.A.T. ramps. They're aluminum, rated for 1200 lbs each, fold in half, and have suspension cables for support. Cabela's has, or had them. Work great, and they change the angle so you won't drag the bottom of the frame getting the bike in.
Thank you all! Perfect for what I needed.
