Question Bassani Headers

I am thinking of buying the complete Bassani system, but I only want the Y-pipe and cat- back.(cheaper to buy whole thing) Would anyone be interested in the headers? Also where is the cheapest place to buy Bassani? (I know about PSP already)

Thanks,
Neal

If you are a NLOC member, you'll get a good deal from PSP or North American.

I disagree with ib fast. I had steight pipes on my truck for about three months, and then got the full Bassani. Other than the price, the streight pipes do not compare. The truck pulls harder all throughout the whole rpm range and sounds like a quality system should. I gained 2 1/2 mph in the 1/4 mile and ran a best time of 13.47 with the system. This is on worn out stock F-1s with a crummy 2.10 60ft times, I really had to easy into it to launch. With my slicks on I would have been at the 13.2s or 13.3s. So I think the Bassani system easily out performs the streight pipes on my truck. But I will never, never, never, ever, ever, ever spend that much on an exhaust system again in my life, unless someone has a gun to my head and forces me to.

Yeah, don't buy the Bassani's if you want performance. I run 12.80's@ 107+mph with the Bassani's, so as you can see they do not add any PERFORMANCE

Save your money and install 2, two chamber flowmasters, I lost plenty of low-end torque with the Bassani system. All I did was add the cat-pipes and cat-back like your thinking of doing.
I am so glad I did not waste the money on the headers.....I did manage to find my lost low-end torque with addition of the 3.73's...If your interested, I'll swap for your stock setup LOL

Get a copy of Super Ford/July 2000. On pages 78-83. They show 12.2 hp gain at rear wheels with complete Bassani exhust system and 24 hp with Pro-M 80MM and K&N Filter.

There is no gain with the Bassani system. But I love the sound, it has to be one of the BADDEST sounds I have ever heard from a full size pickup.
I'm sure magazines lie to keep their money coming in from the ads that these big companies place.....
How ever, with more boost, there should be a gain.So one day it might be worth it.Maybe on the 2001 models, they do have a little more boost...IMO

i don't care if your L does 11.0 none of that gain in e/t comes from bassani period. this is not just on my truck but everyone's as two other L owners, one that drives from indiana to michigan every week to race have also confimed this. no gain in e/t period. the money saved on this exhaust can be wiser spent on chips, ram air and tourqe convertors ect.take it from someone who made this mistake already. waste of money

you will, have to go with someone else on the cat back, ie throaty sound.these other Ls and i have tried every combination of no cats ,bassani cats ,no shorty headers gain on an L,and straight pipes are a little on the loud side.i am still waiting on weather to see if there is a gain in e/t with strait pipes.and have never claimed there was.long tube headers might give a gain in e/t but i think you lose the cats with this option.if you do just the cat back for sound only the bassani is not worth the 650.00 or more as the sound is good but to quiet.people can dyno and get a little more hp on the top end with headers,hi flow cats, cat backs, but you lose on the low end[at the track]so it ads up to 0 gain in e/t so far.later

If you are dead set on buying the bassani call Steve at Houston Performance for the best price on it. However, realize that most people, myself included, saw very little gain from the kit. I did the whole thing headers and all and only picked up 8rwhp.

just my .02
