Angry Fuel Pumps

Well, went to go to work Tuesday morn and low and behold the BOLT wont go. After spending 2hours and 45 minutes on hold with Ford Roadside Assistance (used Montgomery Wards Auto club instead they only took 6 minutes)and having it flatbedded to the dealer they tell me it's the fuel pump and they have to order one. Anyone else having problems after 22k miles.

That problem is not uncommon. I have just under 22k miles, and noticed an intercooler leak.

Yep,
I was taking my mom & dad to the Miami Intnl. Boat Show a few months ago and my truck just quit running. Had to have it towed, Ford assistance, while we went to the show. Sure enough, fuel pump. I had 8k miles on it. Took two days to air one in. Had to rent a Mitsubishi Galant. Puke.

Tim

PS...They didn't flat-bed it. Towed it and scratched the #ell out of the front dam. Ford bought me a replacement for not telling them how to properly tow it.

Mine quit Wednesday night, had it back Tuesday. Not bad considering the holiday. Oh, 22K miles when pump went.

When I had mine it died at 2200 miles, not 22k. You guys made it alot further than I did....

Way common problem...

I have a towing co. those in tank fuel pumps don't last very long! all car makers have this problem, we are not alone. It is important to have it Flat bedded, more important to have a driver who cares about Your truck! When possible have them hook the rear of the truck to pull it up & use ramps, or it WILL scrape the front when loading. Try to avoid them pulling the front up first if possible! Lloyd

This is kind of scary. I have an 88 K-5 Blazer in addition to the 2000L and the K-5 has 120K miles and the original in the tank fuel pump, of course the doors aren't cracked, the rotors have never warped, the front end bolts don't move around or clunk, etc. etc. etc.

Is this another Ford quality issue? I'm really beginning to wonder if I should keep this truck, even though I have an uncontrollable smile after every drive.

Question

So, the problems are:
-Rotors
-Seats
-Leaking intercooler
-Front suspension
-Gas pump
-Cracking doors
-Rattling pistons

But the smile after each drive is still there...

My dealer took exactly 1 day to replace my intercooler. I don't think its time to trade it in for a new M3 yet.

Well folks' got it back Friday afternoon and all seems well. However it did take a few blocks to get the frown off my face from drivind a GMC Sonoma for 4 days. But all is sunny since I got the CHIP back in.
Also, thanks for the responces. It's either good to know your not alone or it's sad to know. You be the judge.
P.S. I just ordered a '01 (I must be a glutton for punishment).
