lightning ground effects kit for excursion/expedition
went to the local ford parts place (non svt)to order a bumper hole plug the other day...
the parts guy told me that a local baseball player bought a excursion and the the ground effects kit for a lightning (front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper.. maybe the rims/tires too) anyway..
he took the side skirts to a local shop and they made molds of the kit and stretched them out to fit his excursion.
if anyone is interested, i'll call around to see if it is true, and to see how much they want.. i'll even take some pics if need be.

I've posted this before, but I did most of the L stuff for my wife's Expedition. We need to keep the lighted step bars b/c we have two small children, but I got the front bumper/grill, upper grill, and had the rear bumper painted to match. Also got the L wheels. Looks killer, I think.
Probably a bit more expensive than getting molds done by an aftermarket shop, though.
You can see it on my webpage...scroll down near the bottom for the Expy.

I didn't get my new Motor Trend yet. What is the deal with this Thunder?

The deal is that it is not going to be produced. This is a prototype and there are absolutely no plans for it to make it to the public.
It's got the L engine, suspension, brakes, etc.
It would be really neat, I think. If I could get my wife to let me swing the $6k or so to get an L powerplant, maybe I could get someone to work with the Expy ECU to get it to run like this one did.
They claim 5.6 sec 0-60 and 14.4/95.8mph Nothing short of spectacular given that these suckers weigh about 1000 lbs more than an L.
