Question Funny sound after shutting down???

Lately I have noticed after I have driven my truck enough to get it to normal operat. temp. once I shut it off I hear the usual "snap", "crackle" and maybe even a "pop". I have noticed what sounds like liquid dripping onto something very hot and get that sizzling sound, anyone else heard this or what it could be.

I have, I think that it is the cats cooling down. It does sound weird though, cause my 91 z-28 never used to do it. in fact this is the only car that I have heard that does this

If you use the AC in any setting, once you park it, the condensation from some of the pipes drops onto something hot (manifolds?).
Mine has done it from day and hasn't seemed to harm anything.

Just installed headers last night and noticed the dryer? for the a/c was located above the exhaust manifold. There is a kind of sock over it and when i rubbed it water came out.The truck hadn't been driven for four days. My guess that is your noise.

My '97 S351 sounds like a whole cub scout troop grilling burgers with metal spatulas, between all the pinging & popping of the stainless exhaust shrinking and the condensation from the A/C hitting the headers. I mean SERIOUS racket. These are not things worth worrying about.
