Truck running really bad, sputtering etc...

I bought a used 2000 Lightning five months ago and have had non-stop problems. But lately whenever I go to accelerate whether it be gentle or hard the truck sputters really badly and refuses to move. I have had two seperate dealerships inspect the truck inlcuding two different Ford Master Techs and they all tell me that the truck is fine. It is throwing no codes, misfires, or anything else. The truck is stock except for a panel K&N filter and a Flowmaster cat-back that was put on by the previous owner. I think that the cat-back is blocking flow and that is causing the truck's poor running. Is it possible that the cat-back is responsible? I plan on getting a Bassani one, but am tight on money right now. I would feel alot better if someone could help me out since I feel like I'm losing it. Thanks.

A used 2000 L sputtering... It wouldn't happen to be a Black 2000 L would it? I almost bought a used 2000 that was doing the same thing...wound up taking it back to the dealer for my trade in back.

If it runs fine until vacuum drops to near zero or start of boost and again runs fine when you let off of the throttle, the hose connecting to high pressure pump is slippiong off the pump or the plastic Y connecting the lines from the two pumps has broken. Both these are common problems. You can confirm this by checking fuel pressure while power braking.

The sputter I just got rid of on mine was some bad coil packs... ruined after my coolant hose blew the other week.

I have a 2000 L also and had similar problems about two weeks ago. Come to find out that my intercooler was leaking antifreeze inside my intake. I did'nt know that ford had a recall on some 99 and 00 models. and of course my truck did'nt show a recall on it. Truck is running fine for now.It better be, cause it cost me $2800. good luck on your problem.

Yeah, it wasn't a "normal" recall, it was some limited time thing.

Some '99(not sure about '00) Ls had problems like yours caused by a fuel pump(in the tank) line coming loose. The line and clamp had to be replaced.

check ; fuel filter, fuel lines inside tank going to the fuel pumps and fuel pumps themselves and the white resitor under front bumper next to the intc pump, coil packs, plugs, vaccum leak ( vac hose, line, bad gasket on intake, leak around tb,maf even check vac hose on lower intake on back side, any exhaust leak closer to the eng/o2s the worse it is), bad injector, or a bad/faulty,or unpluged sensor
or it could be a BAD PCM/ and or bad wiring harness
good luck i am having the same luck my truck i just sent my PCM in to get checked for damages and if it is repair it $89.00 to check it/ 259.00 to repair 389.00 for a reman which they had none

hope this helps
