JDM Day...Bigger and Bigger Every Year!
There was 144 vehicles that attended this years JDM day on friday. It was about even split with Lightning trucks and mustangs, 1 Motorcyle (02Hyabusa), two Corvettes (which werent included in the car count b/c they were track employees), a Ferrari Maranello (father of a customer), 6 10 sec trucks on hand, and Jim Ienner with his 11.00 MP truck, Blu Ballz with his 11.17 completely 100% stock Longblock non ported eaton truck with a 50 NX hit, Mark Maydan ran 11.2, These were just some of the trucks I got to see as I was pretty busy during the day. There was roughly 70 Lightnings and a handful of harley trucks. Of course Ralphs record breaking 8.2 @ a gazillion MPH run.
Fun Ford Weekend Tough Truck Champion Don Justus' truck was there and ran 10.18 all motor.
Jeff Bruso with MLNIUM HD's old truck ran a 10.19 all motor as well.
Brian K. went a new best of 10.57 driving his truck up from Virginia and back 260 miles Each way. This was with Cats and huge 20" wheels on the front!
Mike00L ran a couple mid 10 sec runs, I didnt get a chance to see but everyone was telling me he was running good!
The Track Surface was great sometimes and sometimes it wasn't. It was a cold day depending on weather or not the clouds were blocking out the sun.
This is like a big Family event, Vinnie and Mike running the tree, Pete guiding people into the water box, Jimmy III running the staging lanes, Shaun making sure everyone was race ready, Julie and Stephanie running the tower and tickets, Craig and Spec sweeping the stones out of the water box, and of course Shaun's Mom and Dad for cooking enough food to feed over 200 people including desert!
This is why JDM day exists, even Raceway Park events director came up to me Friday and offered me to turn this into a 3 day JDM weekend so the people that couldnt make it on Fridays because of work could make it Saturday or Sunday. So next season there might be a 3 Day event for all of our customers and Family so no one misses out on the fun! We do have alot of people who cant make a week day but could on a saturday or sunday. We could then have some fun with it with heads up and bracket style racing. Since it is a FREE event and free food some people might be able to afford to stay all 3 days in a hotel.
Some people dont have a life the come from as far away as England! One standing right beside me as this is being typed. Hi Ricki!
They fly in from Hawaii, England, drive from far away states, I have to honestly say, I am lucky because JDM Engineering has the best customers in the world!

I said it already in the other thread, but it needs to be said again...
THANK YOU to Jim and the whole crew from JDM for putting on a great event.
My truck is running better than ever and I can't wait to do a couple more little things and shoot for 10's.
I couldn't do it without you guys and can't wait 'til next year...see you then.

Let me add another BIG thank you for all you do for ME and every other Lightning Owner.
But a simple Thank You doesn't say enough for what you and your employees do for us. I wish I could say more!
Wow, a 144 car/truck count with short notice! Wonder what a full years notice could provide, huh?
To everybody across the country, if by any means, you can make a trip to RaceWay Park for JDM Day.............Please Come! You will never regret it!
Thank You JDM for the great memories

Jim & everyone at JDM (And Shawns parents too),
It was a Great time again to hang out with everyone and do some racing!!! No better way then to spend time with friends meet some new ones (The ones that eat Fish & Chips from England LOL!!).
Thanks for dedicating your time to set up and run the entire event.
For me, its been a long year and this was an excellent way to end things.

The best part was to see all the different tuners were represented. This wasn't just a Customer Appreciation Day. It was a gathering of Lightning enthusiasts from all over the world who came together for a day of racing, photo memories, food, and friendship.
No matter what camp you are in you are always welcome @ JDM Day.
See ya next year.
Thanks Again

Even though I wasn't there.....Thank you! You guys rock! I missed a lot of things this past year because of work, and I am already planning my scedule for next year, so family, friends, and fun come before work, and JDM day falls under all those catagories! I'll be there next year even if it means I get fired!!!
The entire family of TEAM JDM is simply the best. It was this event a few years ago that convinced me that they would prepare my Lightning.
The day was run in a very profesional manner, and we all had a blast. A special thank you for all who volunteered running the track event as well as the awsome food.
If there is a three day event , mark me down for a room. Can't wait for next year!

Another great JDM Day
JDM Day is always one of the highlights of the year. Both my son Dave and I had a great time. Ran a personal best 11.745 with stock block MP Lightning. Thanks to our British friends for leaving the rain at home this year.
Thank-you Jim, Jim III, Shaun, Julie, and all the JDM crew for a great event.
It is an honor to be associated with such a fine group of people.
Next year I will bring the GT if I can improve my launch with a stick - or better yet get one of JDM's aluminum blocks for the Lightning!
