Not exactly.... Still not sure what happened, but it's not a head gasket. I had just put a Canton
Pan on 2 weeks ago, never had a problem with the stock pan. Somehow oil splashed out of
somewhere onto the header and the foot box. I got out of it and over to the side of the track
as soon as I saw the smoke but they said there was nothing on the track.

Just one more thing to figure out over the winter.

As for the "SANDMAN", that was the first time he took the truck down the track. He bought it used from a
dealer down the shore, there must have been sand stuck between the bedliner and the bed. He ain't no
mason, trust me

Another BIG THANKS to Jim and the crew at JDM for a great day!

JDM and gang are great peeps..

How was the 60 foot times on these M&H slicks, I'm thinking about trying them, What are his mods? What tire pressure works best? Did you use tubes?

Thank's

That's my baby! I went 11.001/ 122.7 for a new personal best. The new 30" slicks held a 1.54 60' once, but I could not repeat it. I need adjustable shocs at my power level now.
I have always wanted a 10 sec. street truck that can drive to the track and home only adding slicks. I get one more try this fall at Cecil in two weeks.

Congrats on your new time..

Just a coupkle questions please. You got a Whipple or KB? What tire pressures do you run? Did you use tubes in the tires? Did you screw the tires to the rims on both sides? Do you have Nitrous?

Thanks

I run a MP blower at insane rpms(just under 25,000). It makes about 22#s of boost, but heats up quite a bit. No tubes or screws in my slicks for now. Nitrous will be a winter project as I have a NX kit in the garage already.
I experimented with tire pressures from 16.5# to 19# but need to add some proper sized and adjustable shocks to control the suspension. I was running on composite monoleafs for the first time, and still on the stock Bilsteins. The shocks are now way out of their proper working range. I will add some double adjustable rears and custom valved fronts soon.

Congrats Jim, so close to that 10 you wanted but you know as well as I do it's there, even without the NX kit, a little suspension work and a little more hook out of the hole and it's yours. T

This was a great event, thanks to JDM and all who made this happen. This was the first time I had run my truck with the new motor and only the second time I have ever been to the track. I ran a 12.35 @ 112 mph with a 1.93 60ft, full weight, cold weather tune, stock f1's, and a vacuum leak and bad O2 sensor.
Slicks and Whipple next time, I'll be in touch Jim!!

Hey Jim, Congrats on your 11.001. Thats me in front of you in this pic. You were so close!!!!!!!!! Howdo you like those Rear Leafs? I know you have issues with the shocks, but for the street how did they feel? I'm wondering if the slicks and the springs together netted you the 1.54 60'?

I ran a personal best of 12.44 @ 108.9mph. I was happy considering i dont have much done to the truck.

Josh
