Question How do these things "hook up"???

Hi,
I'm thinking of getting somthing new this year. I would like to get A full size 2 door SUV. big v-8 5 spd, however nobody makes them anymore. I was also thinking of an F 150 4X4 5.4L with the Holly supercharger but I'm not so sure.
Anyway the Lightning sure exites me but I'm woundering how are they to drive every day? Do they hook up good when you get on them or do they hop all over the place? What abought in the rain? What ever I get will have to ba A daily driver.
Thanks
MIKE

driven mine when it was -45 (and crashed it), drove it up the Al-Can. And through half of last winter. Its fine, just put her in second, and go lightly on the gas. I keep 3 sandbags in the bed when I look for races (all the time).

The tires never hop, they just spin. Surely you know that how a vehicle behaves on water is strickly a function of the tires and has nothing to do with the vehicle. The tires on the Lightning behave quite well on wet roads. Mine is a daily driver with almost 24K miles. I race it at the drag strip every Friday nite. I'm 56. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I have a corvette in the garage with dust on it. I'm going to sell it.

Daily driver question: https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/004753.html

How does 440 lb/ft of torque hook up... not very well... but the wheels spin, not hop.

Cool

Stock, mine hooked up pretty good, but now, with the chip, MAF, and 4.10s very easy to light 'em up. I can see that next on the agenda is a trip to Lancaster for a set of Cal-tracs. Am I unhappy- hell, no.

The truck drives very well in the rain.
-it is that simple-
I don't know how it is in the snow, but we have a bunch of guys who drove theirs all winter (with winter tires).
