Post Dealer ups price on new L

Three weeks ago, forest ford sold me a new L. any color I wanted, choice of 5 for $28,200 with undercoat & scotchgard. (They all had it). Now they only have two, & 1 is damaged. I sent a friend in to buy one, & they had the b@lls to say $35,000! He was able to get the price down to $32,900, (still $300 over sticker) Mine was $4,400 under sticker. Needless to say he told them where to go! For those of You wanting to buy, find a good deal & jump on it, before the price changes! Lloyd

I think you got a great price. Supply is drying up, I guess. Less supply, more price gouging. Plus some sales people and their managers are jerks from jump. Your friend might have run into bandit shift. Have him try again toward the end of the month and see what happens price-wise. They might be more willing to deal if they have any stock left.

Hey LSchicago!

Try sending out an e-mail to all the dealerships in your area...Went to the ford website and just started looking at dearships in my area. I do remember one Ford place calling me in the Chicago area...they said 29K out the door, but I needed to pay for the dropship... i wish I keep the note from the sales guy!

In one week I received 12-15 e-mail of dealerships that had "L" at invoice. Ended up getting a better deal here in Texas.

Good Luck to your Friend

Sean

And if you want a 360 horse dakota r/t, I know where you can buy one for only $42,000. Its a 99 BTW, and its still on the showroom floor.

This is not always the case.
The dealership that I have ordered my 2001 from still has 2000's on the lot.
When I asked "what are you going to about those 2000's after the 01 L's are in",
the sales manager said "I don't know, I guess well have to find a sucker to take them off our hands".
My guess is that if there are still '00' L's on the lot after the new ones arive, then they will be forced to sell at a serverly reduced price.
