Battery Light Flickering on.. Whats up??

Hey everyone,
So the little red battery lighton my 98 XLT thing keeps flickering on for the last two days. The battery meter thing on my cluster shows the level to be more than half. The truck starts no problem. The int. and ext. lights dont dim at all even when the subs are turned up. (2 10" Rockfords w/800watt amp)
Any suggestions on what could be up. It doesnt seem to be a weak battery.

Thanks for any help
Marc

Oh, the only other time Ive seen that battery light come on is when its at red line and the auto trans is about to shift. The light comes on during the little "hang time" before the shift. Thats happened ever since I got the truck like a year and a half ago.

either your alternator is going or your battery is going, go to your local parts store and have then run a free battery / alternator test.

Mine did the same thing while on vacation. Ended up being the alternator 2 days later. Light flickered when it shifted and eventually just stayed on. After that I noticed the gauge dropping.

Bad connection, loose wire.. Do as Pit suggested and get it load tested. Check you terminals also.

Truck left me on the side of the road.....
Got the alternator rebuilt....
Back at work after lunch.

Not the end of the world I guess, still kinda a biatch tho. I hate spending money on my truck if its not for mods.

Thanks for the suggestions tho, right on the money apparently.
