I would save that money for a set of 03 up revised heads with more spark plug threads because at the stock power level with the 4 thread heads it probably will shoot a plug out in the near future, and it certainly will shoot a plug out sooner than later if you add even more power/cylinder pressure, i have personally seen many of these 4 tread heads launch the plugs, dont let it turn u off though the svt is one fine machine except for the above bs....

get a 4lb'r and a good tune, it will net you some nice HP gains. On the head issue as long as the plugs are tight and are checked frequently there is not a problem with the 4 thread heads. I check my every oil change and I'm running 17 lbs boost.

Have Fun!

hey man...i have a buddy who 1st had a predator and then got a SCT tuner and he LOVES the SCT. it makes the predator look like a piece. Also the software on the SCT is much better, IMO. One thing about LFP....they only sell parts.....they are not a tuner...won't be able to provide too much tech support IMO. A #4,5,or maybe 6 pulley will def be the way to go along with an SCT tuner, spark plugs. This will make a BIG difference. AND I believe the consensus is that the Gates brand belts are much better than the Gatorbacks. (search for proof). A FTVB would also be a good idea. As far as the t-stat....i'm thinking the stock one will be ok for a while at your power level. Enjoy your L!

Agee on SCT and have two Racer Packages and a third vehicle with an Excalbur II of my own. You will get very good tuning and tune service with your LFP SCT purchase. Andre from HALO Forum provides tune and support. He can also provide dyno tune on a Mustang dyno if you are in the Houston area. If not in the Houston area, he will work with you to refine the tune if you have AFR and power checked on at your local dyno facility.

depending on the overall diameter of the tire.rim combo, it may change your overall drive ratio, screw with your shift points, your odometer will be inaccurate, and your speedo as well.
The 20"s may be heavier (more rotating mass)
if they are larger diamter than stock rim/tire combo, the gearing will cause you to be slower off the line.

A 4# lower, tune, traction bars and shift kit will REALLY wake up the truck.
you can probably find the parts used int he classifieds, the tune... only go with a dyno tune.

anyone agree w/ me on the gates vs. gator belt issue? and YES the 20's WILL slow it down, like stated above the reason is b/c of more rotating mass...basically there is more weight that has to be turned and it takes more power to turn more weight (correct me if that's inaccurate). IF i was you I would stick w/ the 18's. it's really a matter of show vs. go.

Depends both on the total mass of the wheel, as well as where the mass is placed.

A 50 lb wheel that carries 40 lbs around the hub and 10 lbs at the rim will accelerate quicker than a 50 lb wheel that carries 10 lbs at the hub and 40 lbs at the rim.

Larger wheels are generally slower both because they weigh more on an absolute basis and because that weight is farther away from the axle on a relative basis.
