I asked ProM the same question. Here's their response:
We make both a 77mm and a composite version the 80mm which is on average $50
cheaper than the metal unit do to no machining. Also Ford sells and 80mm unit
stock with most of their units, but this 80mm unit has a restrictive bridge down
the center.

George

Hey Noel, I e-mailed them awhile back with alot of Q's and hear are some A's

You do not need to recalibrate the Pro-M for filter changes, they actually offer a 10' replacement filter for it.

I did not ask about a T.B. change upgrade but I think BaBolt answered that.

I did tell them that I was gonna upgrade to a
powerstack type filter and maby a ram air set up and they thought that sounded like a good idea. But they tried tests with the open end filters and got no performance gains, so thats why they do not offer one.

Superchips and PSP do not need any changes done to the chips. That was stated by both manufactures.

My Pro-M gave me 12rwhp over the airaid, pretty good. HTH

I have a Granatelli MAF and a super chip and
that addition was a nice kick in the pants. I wish i had a dyno close to me.

The Granatelli is a Pro-M. They made a good choice and so did you.

That's interesting Jerrod. When you go to their website, they seem to make a big deal out of the fact that their combinations are calibrated exactly and if you put in an elbow or something the calibration will be off. Perhaps they have built in capabliities to measure an amount of air equal to or greater than that which you can achieve even with the addition of the single bore TB.

PRO-M hasn't answered my email for a group purchase so I'm going to alternate plan 2.
