Post Curiosity Question

As I look at pictures some of you fellow L owners post, like the recent ones from ZoraPrime, I notice some of these beautiful trucks with those ugly liscense plates on the front. Do the state's you guys live in make ya'll wear those. If so, i am dang glad i live in Florida.

Just wondering?

I agree, it sucks. I know TX, AL, & VA all require front license plates.

Oh well....

Illinois requires them, but I'm a rebel. The potential fine in IL is $75.00, I'd rather pay the money than put one of those plates on my bumper.

Later,
Jake...

Bear It, great observation! here in new jersey motor vehicle wants every car and truck to have a front license plate on it. I would not even take the bracket from my dealer when I picked up the lightning. they can kiss my exhaust pipes if they think I am gonna put an ugly new jersey plate on the front of my BOLT. 95rcobra

Thumbs down

They put one on my '99 before I could stop them. Achieved drillus interruptus on my '00 and will not put one on even under the penalty of fines. Not only that an Ohio Smokey thought the plate on my '99 made an excellent target for his laser operated tax collection device.

Question

Yea, here in NJ, its another useless law. I didnt install mine. I'll take the fine, for the look of a nice clean truck. Question though. On my front bumper, I have two small indents, but noticable to me. Its where the screws for the plate holder would be fassend (god I cant spell). Does anyone else have these, or is this something the dealer did?

I believe all bumpers have those small indents, its so the dealer knows where to drill, at least thats what I was told.

Yeah, I got the indents, but a tag will never go there.

I've had my L for exactly 1 year now with no front plates...down here in N. Texas. I specifically requested to my salesman NOT to drill the holes in the bumper cover and he didn't let me down.

My wife's Expedition has a Lightning front bumper cover as well that I did not drill for plates.

If I get pulled over and ticketed, I'll happily pay the fine rather than put the plates on.

Out here in Virginia they aren't enforcing front plate requirements much, but as a member of the military, I have been refused entry onto some bases because of no front license plate. I finally gave in and mounted it. Wish I could be a rebel like the rest of you but most gate guards know me and the truck and gave me ample warnings.

Out here in CA it's required by law. I would have shined it, but it was already installed at the dealer when I found it. :-(

Although it aint pretty, you get used to it.

I have the dimples for the front plate, but GA does not require same.

So, for the moment, I have no front plate in place. I do have a HobbyTown USA plate that I could put in that location, but I have resisted the temptation.
