Exclamation SPARK PLUG NEXT COLDEST TR-6's

I have had two sets of TR-6's in 5000 miles i got to plugs on right bank that are burnt i think i need a colder plug what is the next coldest plug i have JDM motor with all the mods. thanks for your input. tom

Next coldest plug from NGK would be the BR-7.

Question Thanks I Can't See Any Other Problem Except Plugs

Thanks i can't see any other problem except that is apparent that i am running wrong plugs in less than 5000 miles this is second set that i have burnt. tom

Tom with your truck/mods you shouldnt have to go to a BR7...

I think that you have another problem...

Check some things out first..

fuel filter (possible clog)
02 sensors (maybe bad from long life, leaded fuel, fouled from running rich or lean)
vaccum leaks (does the truck pull low vacuum at idle or have a high idle?)
ic pump (should be flowing nicely if not it can run hot and possible ping)
have it checked out on a dyno for your air fuel mixture
Have it datalogged with LT and ST fuel trims taken

Give me a call sometime and if you still have the SCT chip Ill get it tuned for you.

Jim i only have 4600 miles on this JDM MOTOR second set of TR-6's all of the above has been checked i burn 93 octane fuel. The plugs looks like they have been warm except two and they are burnt with tips burnt my a/f gauge is correct this lightning was dynoed about a month and everything was good what else are they to do except try a colder plug ??????? any recommendations tom

Question Just Installed Tr8ix Ngk Plugs

Hey lightning friends i just removed second set of TR-6s AND THEY WERE FRIED This is second set in 4000 miles i nstalled TR8IX NGK how much colder is this plug than TR-6 I need help on this one i can't find a cross reference chart on this one i know one thing tr-6's is to hot thanks for your help tom

TR8's are 2 colder than the TR6's.. Think maybe your running lean? How much boost?

I am running between 14 and 15 of boost i also have jdm built motor 6# lower 2.75 upper air force 1 cold air ported eaten plenum and accu-fab throttle body etc. thanks tom

Have you checked to make sure your intercooler pump is working under WOT?
