I happened to browsing on the msn auto page and I came across this availible this fall,2001 GMC c3, 6.0 V8, 325 HP 370 lbs tourqe at 1600 rpm, all wheel drive extend a cab.It supposed to have some special drive shaft for launching.If you add a supercharger it may not be to bad,they'll never be another lightning in my mind but for us poor folks up in New England this truck may be okay it can be driven year round.If you go to www.gmc.com there is a small write up on it.

Look,Im right near ya,You dont need 4wd unless you really are driving alot in the snow.We all know that we only get 2-3 decent storms a year.Does 4wd make you stop any better?>NO Does 4wd make idiots not hit you...NO. Hell with it buy a Lightning and youll love it!As far as the chevies go,I like them but soory,been there,done that

Lightningquick forgot to mention I did have a 99 black lightning bought it last May of 99 and traded it for my current F250,still have the factory sticker.I am a union Electricion working all over Boston and I have to sometimes park in lots that are all mud 2 to 3" deep,Lightning just couldn't handle it would be ruined.Believe me if they ever made an all wheel drive version with a little extra room for tools and storage I would be all over it.You can tell I have the need for speed just look at my signature,What I'm really thinking of doing is getting the new 2001 Ranger 4x4 off road package with the 4.10 gears and the new V6 210 Hp engine and having a supercharger put on it,then I will be able to get any where I want and I'm sure the truck will be very quick, already read somewhere its faster than a dak R/T stock.

I keep wondering about people saying the Lightning costs too much. When I was shopping around for my truck, I found that just about ALL the 4x4's cost more then what I paid for my Bolt.

My dealer had a Stage-2 Roush that was stickered at $40,000 when I got my Bolt.

For the beast we own, I feel like my Bolt was a bargain! Espcially for the respect and reactions I get from people driving it around.

the pawn, it is a bargain when I had my lightning mechanics could not believe what Ford gave you for the price you paid.Popular mechanics had an article last year which I still have that had the Lightning rated the 13th quickest production vehicle made.#1 viper 12.08. #2 lotus espirit 12.85 .corvette 12.98 .#4 ferrari f355 13.13 .#5 formula 13.15. #6 acura nsx 13.17 .#7 carrera 13.30 #8 benz e55 13.39 .#9 camaro ss 13.42 .#10 3000gt 13.44 .#11 stang cobra 13.51 .#12 jaguar xjr 13.62.#13 svt lightning 13.62. Those are 1/4 mile times after each vehicle. pretty impressive #'s after the lightning,camaro and firebird,cobra.The next cheapest was mid 40"s up to $138,000.

In may of 99 went into Quirk Ford in Ma,I had a 96 B4000 5 spd with no a/c with 13,000 miles and it was paid off.There was a lightning on the showroom floor sticker was $30205 after 4 hours of negotiating got the them to give me $12,000 for a trade in.Owing roughly $19,000 on lightning because of added lojack option,drove it til Sept but refinanced through AAA after one payment of $341.00. The truck was truly awesome I am a maniac when it comes to my vehicles a new coat of liquid glass once a week and a cover for it to sleep under at night,but I realized it was to impracticle for me and had no choice to trade in or sell.Went to another Ford dealer and they had a bright red F250 4x4 Supercab sticker was $32600. After 3 hours of negotiating got them to $26000 plus they gave me $26,500 for lightning,so to make a long story short walked out owing roughly same amount I owed on lightning but at 5.9% and I only had to make 2 payments for 4 months of having the privalage of driving a lightning.The perormance Mods I've done to the F250 make it quick for a heavy truck and can beat any fullsize chevy or dodge.I know I could of sold the lightning for more privately but it was Sept and there really isn't a market for that vehicle towards winter in my area,and I also saved on sales tax so I really got $27500 on trade.I'm sorry for babbling the answer to your question would be $26,000.
