CARB woes

Hey all, I have been visiting this site for over a month now, and have read a ton of posts about L's...I have my eye on an 03, with 21,000 miles are on it. I do have some questions I have not been able to search out and answer for myself.. I already know that Lightnings are fast as hell, stock and should leave well enough alone, but I also think that I too will get greedy and want to add more HP, and Torque... So to my Questions, How many people in here are from the lame *** way to hippy state of California like I am. We have pretty strict SMOG issues. What mods, are out there that are okay with CARB ( California Air Research Board )? If I decide to swap out my Blower with a Kenny Bell, or Whipple..will I be able to pass? what about a full Bassani exhaust system? Long tube headers? Thanks for your time reading my post and answering my Q's....

Long tubes won't pass a CARB inspection. Shorties are Ok if you get a set that are CARB approved like JBA or others. Anything Cat back should be OK. CAI's must be CARB approved as well like Volant, Airad, etc,... The after market blowers again must be CARB approved,.. I've seen blower kits that meet CARB requirements, but I don't remember the applications. Don't mess with the EGR or any of the emissions equipment including CAT's. Most HP tunes lean out the AF ratio from stock so I think you'll be OK with a tune. I live in Norcal & yet have had to get my truck inspected,... but when I do,.. I just going to make sure all of my bolt ons are CARB approved & I'm set on the Stock Tune,... then go to what ever after I pass the inspection. The CHP is training it's officers to know what is legal as far as a visual inspection,..so now it's possible to have a CHP ask you to pop your hood and have a look. I think this is aimed at the ricer community & "drifters" & don't think they will do it to the general population unless you give then reason to believe the vehicle has been tampered with. Good luck.
