Post Superchips TRAC program, comments

Those of you with the TRAC program, please place your comments here...as in acceleration, shifts at WOT and Part throttle, and any times you have from the racetrack.
Thanks

Well to start things off I have had a superchip since they were out for our L's. The first chip was pretty good but had that 80 or 90 mph performance wall. I sent it in for a reburn and it still seemed like it lacked some performance. I then sent away for the Swanson chip. I put it in and it felt BADASS.. if anything maybe with this chip the trans shifts abit hard. Some guys like that. Anyway I went to the strip with the Swanson chip and the L did not do any better than the "old" superchip...in fact my mph was down a little but this could have been due to weather. In the mean time I sent the superchip in for the CUX1TRAC program. What this does is position 1 is the performance street mode and postion 2 is the drag race only mode. They also gave me a new chip because the switch was bad on the old one. I just got this chip back and installed so I have no track time to see if things are better... I'll keep you all posted on what I think... See ya Jeff

Here is another update..--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well I have had the CUX1TRAC program for 12 hours now and so far it seems like it is making me some good HP. In the #1 position the L chirps the tires when it hits second. The tranny shifts in the 1 position are firm but not hard. I had it in the 2 position for a little while and the only thing I could notice was the tranny shifts harder...kind of like the Swanson chip. Its a shift like getting kicked in the back when it hits 2nd and 3rd. These are only preliminary results. Hopefully I can get to the track some. So far I like it better than the Swanson chip. Jeff

Jeff
When you speak of your shifts are firm and even harder in pos. 2, you are talking about at WOT, right?

Yes PFA WOT hard shifts for #2. Although the position #1 was firm at all rpms. The Swanson chip shifted hard at part throttle which I didn't like. Maybe this Friday I'll get some track time. If I'm not any quicker than 13.5 or my mph is NOT above 101 then I'm going to give Sal's 4 position chip a try...

Just curious. If you saw my other post elsewhere, you know why I ask.

Thanks

Hey PFA,

Give me a call, we have something for your shift firmness in Position 2 for your truck with the CUX1TRAC program.

We passed along your comment about your softer shifting in the drag-strip only program. So far, we have had only 2 people say this same thing that you did, and so we had the engineer take a look at the program, and make some further changes. You might want to have us reflash your Superchip with that change.

Cool

Mike,

Performance was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a bunch. I'm sure I'll set new best times this fall.

Chirps in 2nd & 3rd WOT.

SuperChip,

I have just received the new chip also, what version do I have ? Is there anyway to tell ? do I need to send it back for the updated program as well ? do you have a code that tells you which version chip I have ?
No time at the track yet, but didn't know we are still beta testers on the new chip. Is the shift suppose to be firm or soft in drag race ONLY ?

It seems from what Mike is saying is that the shifts are suppose to be hard like Jeff is talking about. I hope to talk to Mike on friday about it.

I have the new superchip program too. It shifts hard in position one and really hard in the drag race position. I tried the truck on my g-tech and got one tenth of a second quicker on the track position. I like the chip.

Mike says:

"Another point I wanted to make is that the shift firmness in Position 2 of the CUX1TRAC program is going to be noticebly softer than in Position 1, due to the torque converter being maintained at maximum stall to increase acceleration in Position 1. Just like when you install a loose, high-stall speed TQ, the same thing happens."

Now they are saying the shift is firm with the revised chip but Mike has not responded to my E-mail or answered here about what version I just received in the mail.

Mike how do I figure out what SuperChip sent me ?
