They were asking $5,000 over MSRP but 2 hrs later they let it go for MSRP. It did not come with the tonneau cover, but I didn't mind because I wanted a snuglid anyways. Have you started to modify yours yet?

mine's all stock for now... the snuglid arrived, so it's going on next week, but the bedrug hasn't arrived yet.

i have about 880 miles on it now.

did Varsity Ford have any other Lightnings? How long did they have the one you bought?

I got mine down in southern CA since I happened to be down there that weekend, but if I had known I could get Varsity Ford to part with the Lightning for MSRP, I would have considered that. I only talked to them on the phone, didn't go to the dealership. At least I got one though!

Have you heard anything about their service department? Are you planning to get it serviced there or another dealership?

On the air take issue.If you want decent quality,awesome sound and 2lbs more boost go here WWW.downsford.com Get the downs ford one.

If you want a litttle better quality and you want to wait for it to be a stocking stuffer the christmas of 2002 get Psp one.

If you want a intake system that does not sound good and works almost the same as the factory one get the AIR-AID.

Go with the downs ford one.Ive had it on both my 99 and 2000 and the functionaity is great!!No complaints.

As far as the chip goes,DONT ASK!!!! LOL

Spiro has a used Downs intake i think he wanted to get rid off see if he still has it.

1) Swanson
2) Superchip
3) PSP
4) The Others

I think I did that incorrect. It should be:
1) PSP
2) Swanson
3) The Others
4) Superchip

Damn, I mean:
1) Superchip
2) the others
3) PSP
4) Swanson

Sorry, I goofed while typing. The final order is:
1) The Others
2) Superchip
3) PSP
4) Swanson

Forget it. This is just too confusing.

I started racing mine with approx 500 miles on it. They get faster after they are broke in. I started noticing more performance around 6,000 miles.

Forget about the paint sealer - - - unless you only wax her once a year or more.

140+ MPH has never been a problem with mine.

Congrad's on your new truck, even know its the second fastest color (Silver is the fastest :-) )...

Racing, I would wait till atleast 500 to 1k miles, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt WOT it for a few seconds. You want to give it the Gas to help seat the rings (every once and a while, but you dont want to keep it floored for an extended period of time. The old saying "Be gentle, but also show her that you love her!"

Paint Sealer: absolutly NO. it's a rip off. You can do the Scotch Gaurding yourself for like $20. The exterior is just a waste.

Fastest, I'm in the slow group, I only had it up in the 120's. The the tires are Z rated.

Could you post your #s for the filters? ET or dyno will do. I think we all would benefit from that. First stock then Downs then Air Aid. Thanks,

GREAT<Now I have to dig these out again.
I have no proof of what the intake did except for the difference without a filter at all.One night before I got my swansons chip,I took out my air filter and gained 1/10.Im guessing that is the same for the Downs but Cant say for sure.here are a few of my #s for you to compare.Now I have to sort through all these!!! Ive got 30-40 slips here!!!! JERK

For the record My stock times were consistant 13.9s@98mph
