Question Air Filter for 2K L

Just picked up my 2K L. 1st order of business is chip and filter. I went to pick up a filter after reading through several posts and found that my filter is not cone shaped but flat! Any one know where to pick up a flat performance air filter?

Thanks!

K&N makes a performance replacement filter or you can get a filter kit here in the online store..some other places too if you want to wait.

Hmmm. The only K&N filter for the L I seem to be able to find is the conical variety. Here is a pic of my airbox. Does anyone know if K&N makes a replacement for this type of air filter?

Thanks!

Yes. That's the replacement filter type that I was referring to...

L hound

Save your money - The $50.00 flat K&N doesnt help. Been there done that - Took it to the dyno.....
Order a Airraid or Downs or PSP filter that is open, those will give you more performance....

My $0.02

Next time shrink your pictures to 640x480 or smaller. All that resolution is a waste on the web.

If you want to keep the stock look(for shows), it's the way to go.

For maximum performance, there are other options.

Just depends on your direction....

As far as not helping, let me say this....

The stock-type $50.00 K&N filter is worlds better than the factory paper filter.

It certainly would provide a performace increase compared to the old filter though not as much as a $200.00 cone filter.

At least it doesn't allow water to be sucked into the S/C. (I know Air Raid has an ugly solution for this).

$.02 more...

One might think that Airaid has an ugly solution but it sure sounds sweet when I go to WOT!

As far as stock form for a show, it takes mere minutes to put the stock box back, plus the change in the sound is quite a grin getter. You should do a search if you want to read about them for a couple of days!

Remember: All this guy asked for was where he could get a flat performance air filter.... I was nice enough to get him the part #.

This may be out in left field, but.. You all know I've done mods that didn't directly relate to performance(ie: soundproofing, rollpan, etc., etc., etc.)

We all build our L's in our own way. For me, show comes first. I bought the K&N as a QUALITY FILTER ONLY. Not everything looks pretty or makes it go faster.

Tom: I'm familiar with the grin...

Chuck: Them were the days....
